Course Curriculum Overview

4

I would rate this course a solid 8/10 for relevance and comprehensiveness as it is the flagship course of delhi university. I chose this course because of my interest in economics, moreover the technicality of the subject prepares you for real world problems. Some areas of improvement i would like to suggest will be the teaching should be more frank, if a student doesnt understand a concept teacher should prioritise them first. end semester exams happen every four to five months, While internal exams and continuous assessment keeps on going during these 4 months

Internships Opportunities

3

There are various internship opportunities which keeps on coming through out the year, an internship fair also happens every year where around 20-30 companies come to college for internship opportunites, some of them are Rural handmade, The outlook group, The new shop and various other companies some of them were of business analyst, research intern, CSR intern, most of them were unpaid but some had a good stipend going up to 5000 rupees per month. I got an internship in an NGO as a crowdfunding intern where the stipend was 1000 rupees (performance based)

Placement Experience

3.5

Being the top college of south campus a good number of companies come for placements in sri venkateswara college, a student gets eligible for placement in 5th semester or third year. Companies which have visitted college are namely, Deloitte, De Shaw, KPMG , Ey And some startups as well. highest package offered this year till now is of 23 LPA for financial research analyst in DeShaw. Average package you can get from sri venakteswara college is around 7 LAKHS PER ANNUM. around 30- 40 % students gets placed every year. I would likely go for my masters after completing bachelors

Fees and Financial Aid

fees structure consists of tuition fee of 300, university fee of 2940, college student wellfare fee of 4300, college development fund fee of 1800, college facilities and service fee of 9605 , weaker student support fund of 700, this sums up to 19,645 this is fees for my third year of sri venkateswara college, in my first year i paid around 14,725 , in my second year in paid 16,242. so the fees is increasing by time and the reason given by college officials is that the college is developing throughout the year while providing best resources for students including academic and extracurricular activities. Unreserved and reseved students' course fee does not differ much

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life is going pretty smoothly through out my years, There are various festivals and little fest which keeps on going through out the year such as recruitments for socities/clubs, celebrations of festivals , performances of various socities such as dance society, drama society etc. The library have plenty of books to read and various magazines and journals too. there are projectors in clasrooms which we use to present out ppts. Sports facilities are pretty good , every year there are trials for various sports for students to get into college teams, there is a basketball court, a badminton court, 4 tennis courts, a volleyball net, and a large cricket ground used for both cricket matches and football matches, for indoor games there is a table tennis table, a set of chess, carrom.

Admission

In 2022 during my time of admission CUET was introduced and you have to rank your preferred college and course combination on top and the next preferred combination of college and course after it, I had my sight on Economics honours in Shri Ram college of commerce, But my parents suggested to go for Sri venkateswara college because it is just walking distance away from my home so that i can save my time and energy, so i put Sri venkateswara college for economics honourse in first preference and i got it in first round

Faculty

3.5

Faculty in Sri Venkateswara College is mostly great while there are some teachers i personally didn't like the way they teach, The ratio seems pretty good every teacher handles around 25-30 students. In my course for the first two years i had seven exams three papers are of core subjects and 4 others are Skill enhancement course, Value addition course, Generic elective and Ability enhancement course, these 4 are those papers where you have choice to choose whatever subject you like to study. In the third year i hav 6 papers three core exams and a generic elective, skill enhancement course, Discipline specific elective

Other Applied Colleges

Shri Ram College of Commerce - [SRCC] | Bachelor of Commerce [B.Com]

As CUET entrance test was introduced in 2022, it was our choice to rank our preferred college in the top and second option below. I put Sri venkateswara college for BA(Hons) Economics in my first preference becuase it was just walking distance away from m

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
