- The placement opportunities are not the best considering most of the students opt for masters after their bachelors.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is teaching me how to apply Psychology in real world by iffering me various courses like Counselling Psychology and even courses like Educational psychology and Health psychology. I am getting to explore various field which will definitely help me decide what field i want to work in after my masters. The exams occur twice - mid sem and end sem. The rest two are assignments. The teachers are good at teaching as well so it helps us understand the course better.
Internships Opportunities
first year - compulsory internship with an NGO third year and fourth year - compulsory internship with any company of choice. these internships need to be applied to by the students themselves. However, the college does offer assistance and offers the students the chance to apply through the committee itself.
Placement Experience
Most of the students apply for masters after FLAME. However, flame also has a placement committee which helps the students apply for jobs. We get multiple companies on campus during the placement period and students are also given proper training sessions on how to sit for interviews which helps them prepare.
Fees and Financial Aid
Im pursuing my BA(hons) in Psychology at FLAME. Our yearly fee is 11 lakh rs. (includes tuition fee of 7lakhs and accomodation and other fee of 4lakh rs). Application fee is rs 2000. This fee has an increae of 5% in the third year. There are three types of scholarship - need based, merit based, and scholarship based on sports achievments. There can be 100% scholarship, 75%, 50% and 25%.
Campus Life
The infrastructure at flame is top tier. The sports complex offers us a variety of sports that we can play till a certain time. The rooms are equiped with everything one might need like projectors and TVs. The library has thousands and thousands of books + digital books to choose from. We have an IT lab in the library which is equiped with Macs and Windows PCs. There are two major events at flame - KURUKSHETRA and FLAME Fest. Otherwise, there are events happening almost every day organised by the 50+ student run clubs at flame.
Hostel Facilities
FLAME is a residential campus so everyone has to stay on campus. The rooms are spacious with twin sharing. There are three types of rooms offered- twin sharing with a bathroom, twin sharing with bathroom and AC, and flat type accommodation with 6 people sharing two washrooms. The food is pretty good with a good variety in the menu. However, since its a jain college, chicken isnt allowed on campus. there are 4 cafes/eating joints on campus which offer good veg options.
Admission
The admission process was pretty simple - we had to submit our application, sit for the FLAME entrance exam and then give an online interview. I chose this college over the other colleges because FLAME is a liberal arts college, offering various courses and also helps me develop my other skills. i can take part in multiple events, be it extra curriculars or exams. Flame has helped me develop holistically
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio depends on the course. In the first year at FLAME, students are expected to choose various courses to try and explore all the fields and subjects. Some courses dont have any exams and only have assignments. Most of the science and math courses have practicals and exams. A lot of the courses however have exams. The exams are not hard to pass considering the teachers teach really well and they give us the appropriate material to learn from as well.
