Course Curriculum Overview
the curriculum is quite modern and is based on the recent developments in the respective field. it prepares the student for greater opportunities in academia by giving good research and internship opportunities. exams are frequently held once a month.
Placement Experience
placements are not that bad because very less students opt for it . mostly people go for a phd. but companies such as CHEGG , SHELL , ZEUS NUMERIX visited the campus . The average salary was 8 LPA . My plan is to go for higher studies.
Fees and Financial Aid
i will be paing 63500 per semester or 1.27 lakhs a year for BS MS program at iiser pune. for students of sc st category the fees is 27500 per semester or 55000 per year . the institute supports the DST INSPIRE scheme in which selected candidates get 5000 per month over the course duration
Campus Life
there are quite good number of clubs here for different groups of students based on their intrests and passion. The annual fest is called kaaravan and IISER pune also hosts MIMANSA , a nation wide science competition for undergrads. The sports facilities are excellent . For example the campus has a international level cricket fieild.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel rooms are quite good as per charges . they provide lights , fan , table and cots tgo the students . also each hostel is connected to the institute LAN . Mess facilit is also good coering both north and south indian menus.
Admission
i choose IISER pune due to the brand value of the college in reserch field. The admission process is done through IISER APTITUDE TEST . which is conducted by one of the IISERs each year within 2 weeks of JEEAdvanced examination. to get iiser pune one needs to score 150/240 in the exam and choose iiser pune as 1st preference in the counselling.
Faculty
the faculty to student ratio is quite good but varies from department to department. On average it is 1:15. There are 4 to 5 exams in a semester per course. 6-7 courses and 1-2 lab courses are normally there.exams are quite moderate and practical based.
