Remarks

There is nothing bad, all good. The college management is handled by student community itself. There is student body called gymkhana which meets every month in order to decide the student affairs and management of various student events.

Entrance Preview

I took the IIT JEE in 2008 and cleared it in the first attempt. I got an all india rank of 3023 and i choose the college over the course. IIT Kanpur is always there in the top 3 college list and I was inspired by reading about their campus and quality of education. I took the exam in 2008 and many things have changed after that, hence the admission process won't help much.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is very good and is not only focused on improving your technical knowledge but also the human quotient. There are many courses which are from humanities background also. The quality of teachers are really good and most of them have PHDs from outside india and post-doc experience.

Internships Opportunities

The internship experience was really good. All major MNCs come to recruit, but i went for research internsship outside india which i went through a separate process from what our college had.

Placement Experience

The placements are really good, it being an IIT. Top firms from all backgrounds (consultancy, investment banking, analytics, core engineering) come to recruit and packages are one of the highest in India that these companies offer ranging from 10 lacs to 24 lacs.

College Events

We have two main college festivals, one technical and another one cultural.The technical festival is Techkriti and happens every year. 100+ colleges participate in it from all over india. This is suppose to be the biggest technical festival of Asia. The cultural festival of IIT Kanpur is Antragini and during this time IIT Kanpur becomes the most happening place of this country. It sees participation of more than 200+ colleges from all over India.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many scholarships that are available. The eligibility is mainly based on the merit (CPI>6.5) and parents income limit (less than 6 lacs per annum).

Campus Life

The gender ratio is very less. The total batch was of around 700 and only 48 girls were there. The diversity is good with students from all over India and from different backgrounds. There are also many clubs like robotics, musical, debates etc.

Hostel Facilities

The hostels are very good as compared to what i have heard in other IITs or top private colleges. The room are shared and it depends on the hostel type that you will get. It might be on double or triple sharing. The mess food also varies from hostel to ho

The alumni community is very strong of IIT Kanpur with frequent contact through alumni meets. The seniors are also very helpful.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since curriculum was given by AKTU itself, colleges only has the power to choose elective subjects- Few subjects were my fav and helped me alot in lot's of different scenerios - like EDC,Network Theory and ofc VLSI Design was my fav. For ECE students - university shd mandate Satellite communication and VLSI Technology a compulsory as it's a kind of core subjects and in every PSU as well as govt exams , questions from this subject always been asked by authorities. More faculties staff's are required.

"Disciplined environment for serious students"

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum provide better understanding of the the concept mentioned. Also it is very helpful for competitive exams like gate. The Full course is highly recommended for mechanical engineering. The only thing is that, they are skipping some important topics which was very helpful for students.

The company is visited in my collage is Mahindra, Infosis, Tata, Maruti Suzuki , TCS ,Gallent.Their are near about 80% students are placed. The complete IIT BHU experiences

Placement Experience:

Placements are a core strength of IIT BHU with students becoming eligible from the 7th semster . The Placement rate is excellent consistently above 87%. Placement Experience:

Good Faculty but not so good placement

Placement Experience:

Companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, HCL, Adani are the top recruiters here but many other companies also visit here. The Faculty of Engineering and Technology has its own dedicated placement cell other than Central placement cell of University of Lucknow. Approximately 70% students at placed in every batch with a median package of 3.5 LPA, and Highest package of 12 LPA.

Campus placements are there in the college, in which the average package goes to be 3-4lpa and max that goes till now is 27lpa. From 7th sem students become eligible for campus placements. There are many companies that have visited like mahindra, TCS, infosys etc.

I choose this college becouse of its flexible acdemic structure and its great Alum connections. Also this is the best college i am getting according to my rank and my interest in mathematics. I have Applied for IIT delhi in electronics. IIT Delhi is also a great college but when it comes to academic focus IIT delhi lacks there. Also there faculty administratation is so strict. if a student wants to start something or he/she has a new iniative for the college , he/she will face hard time. So I couldn't make it to IIT Roper CSE branch because my jee adance rank is not that great for the Roper' Computer science. So the Admission process here at IITK is not difficult. You just the originaly document which you have submitted in your josa counselling portal and you need to verify it once here usually a couple opf hours work. Life @ IITK

I chose IIT Kanpur over othe rcooleges because of its academic reputation, research opportunities and strong alumini network. I was also able to get seats in other IITs but I preferred IIT Kanpur due to its legacy . I didn't face rejections, but did not opt for some colleges even after qualifying due to lower research output, weaker placement stats.
