Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

My curriculum contains more about how engines are designed and how the thermodynamics of whole system works which inclined me more towards this course. The curriculum provides us with hands of experineces in labs which allows us to get in depth knowledge of how everything works. The course should be more focused on how the exact working of the vehicles rather than teaching us about the maths theorems which have no real world use. The exams specifically internals are conducted within a week's gap between them which makes it very difficult for us to prepare and learn both at the same time. The course should focus more on the learning aspect rather than the scoring in the eams aspect.

Internships Opportunities

3

Manipal offers students with various intership oppertunities to develop their skills and showcase the real world where students can apply their knowledge. Companies that offered intershis are- 1. Amazon- Software engineer intern offering 50000PM stipend. It focuses of front end and back end development of their systems. 2. Google- offering 100000PM stipend for a role of Intern software engineer. it requires fluency in C++, JAVA, HTML> 3. Uber- It offered 180000PM stipend for back end developers

Placement Experience

3.5

The students become eligible to sit for the placements from 7th semester onwards. There are many companies that visit every year and have different criteria to select the students. Volvo provided the role of Junior Engineer with a package of 7.5LPA CTC Cisco offered placement+internship with internship stipend being 50000PM and on conversion 18LPA CTC Flipkart provided the role of Engineering intern with a stipend of 50000PM Various other companies like Sabre, Amazon, Deloitte etc are yet to come for placements. The highest package for MIT was 54LPA CTC offered by Microsoft and the average ranging from 10LPA- 12LPA offered by Aamazon, Accenture, TATA Every year around 80% students get placed but ever since the panadameic ended the placement percentage has gone down with lowest being 73%. My plans after completing my Bachelors is to go for higher studies rather than doing service.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees structure for 2021-25 batch is- 1st year- 325000 2nd year- 431000 3rd year- 430000 4th year-430000 security deposit-10000 The per year fee breakup is (for 3rd year)- Tution fees- 258000 Other fees- 172000 Other fee includes Lab, library, exam and other academic fee Scholarships 1. Freeship, and achiver scholar ship for B.Tech.- Min 80% marks in PCM in 10+2, Min. 8 CGPA in 1st semester. It includes 20% fee to be waived off. For Computer Science Engeering the fee structure is- 1st year-497000( including 10000 security deposit) 2nd year- 487000 3rd year- 487000 4th year- 487000

Campus Life

5

The annual events conducted every year include REVELS which is a cultural event that happens mostly in the month of March followed By Tech Tatva which is a technical event event that is conducted in September or October. Manipal has a world class infrastructure available to the students which includes libraries, indoor sports club,Student projects and various other cultural clubs. The library of MIT consists of various study halls along with all the books that a student would require for his/her better understanding. The online library portal provides us with previous year question papers aswell. MIT also has its sports teams in various sports like cricket, football, hockey etc. Every year inter MAHE competitions are being held between all the colleges of Manipal which boosts the morale of all the participating students. MIT also has various student projects like TMR, Aero MIT, Formula Manipal etc. these clubs represent our college nationally and internationally providign exposure.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostels of MIT are a very comfortable place to stay while also providing various facilities like 24*7 electricity, ambulance support, clean drinking water, hot water facility available the whole day. The meal quality of the mess in MIT is mediocre which can be improved. The menu of the mess changes every week while the quality of the food ranging from excellent to unedible. The hostel registration for 1st year students is based on the first cum first served basis and after the 1sy year the hostel is alloted on the basis on the CGPA. The hostel varies from 1.5-2.8 LPA depending on the sharing room or not and wether the a/c is there or not. Some hostel blocks also have a problem of water seepage which after being repaired multiple times comes again as Manipal faces rain through out the year.

Admission

The other colleges include UPES and VIT my main reason to choose MIT over other colleges was the proffesionalism of the faculty and the experience they bring along. I got accepted in UPES and VIT but did not choose them as their Automobile background did not have many positive reviews in terms of faculty environment and the course outcomes. The admission process of MIT is a very clean and systematic one. We have to appear for an online entrance exam MET. The rank of MET decides our eligibility to be in that particular course. There are several rounds of counselling in which the top rank holders are given their choice branch in the first attempt and then later on the other students are accomodated based on the branch cutoff. If a student does not get his/her branch of choice then after the end of 1st year based on CGPA (8+) they can apply for branch change given the vacancies in that branch. The overall admission process is very easy and simple to understand with help being provided.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty to student ratio is around 1:13. The professors of our college are extremly open to us and hence create a very safe environment for us to share our problems. The faculties would be the whole Automobile faculty which include namely Dayanada Pai (HOD), Yogesha Pai, Sriharsha Hegde and many more. The reason to name them is because of their helpful nature and solving our problems in and out of the college. The faculties I would dislike would be the CSE faculties as they are neither approachable nor helpful at clearing doubts . The exams are conducted in 2 parts Internals and externals. Internals consisting of four 5 marks quiz and one 30 marks midsem and the external being of the reamaining 50 marks. the difficulty of exams is from moderate to confusing questions but not very hard.

They fake a lot of their placements....now the bangalore campus currently has 40%placements but they fake the placement rates to make it look like its 80 or 90% which is sad...i heard that if u have really bad marks and couldnt get placed(a lot of ece and eee people, cause they will purposefully try to fail u so that u can apply for the couse again) they will make u sign a document were u agree u never sat for placements.

Placement Experience:

Students at RVCE become eligible for campus placements typically from the seventh semester onwards. Several reputed companies visit the campus for recruitment, offering a wide range of job opportunities to students. Some of the prominent companies include Infosys, Wipro, TCS, IBM, and Accenture, among others. These companies make a significant number of job offers across various profiles, including software development, consulting, and research. The highest package offered varies from year to year and can range from ?10-20 lakhs per annum, depending on the company and the profile offered. The average package generally falls between ?4-8 lakhs per annum. The percentage of students getting placements varies, but RVCE has a consistently high placement record, with a significant majority of students securing job offers during campus placements.
