Likes
- The aspects of the college that needed to be appreciated is the beautifulness of the campus, the campus promote go green where every month the clubs of the college organise cleaniness drive, and the maintainance of the gardener makes more beautiful.
- All the faculties are highly educated and their experience on teaching makes us easier to dig down into the concept. Also every students of the each department have mentors where the mentor gives us guidance and observes our academics performance.
- Each year nearly 50 percentage of the students get placed in many prominent company, startup and many more. The college has Tranning and placement cell where they trains us how to face interviews and how to be a good listener and a good speaker too.
Dislikes
- The infrastructure is top notch and yet standing tall since 1955 and yet it seems to be new because of the well maintenance.
- I disliked the condition of the road of our college because lots of vehicle passes by and the condition of the roadis not good and it doesn't seems to be nicer on ones eyes
- Every department has prominent and expert of each subjects they way they these us is very excellent.
Course Curriculum Overview
It was my dream to became a engineer so that is why i choose Engineering as my course. The circumstances that prepared me for yhe real worls application arethe problem solving skills and combine knowledge of critical thinking. The areas of improvement in the course should be more practical rather than on writing based Every 6 months they conduct exam and the difficulty level should not exceed the toughest limit the question must be based on practice aspect

Ongc, Oil india limited are the companies offer the student to perform internship on the companies wher the provide good stipend. National gas subsidy and many project related to industrial is the project where this companies offers internship with stipent.

From 7 semester students are allowed to seat in campus placement Oil india limited - 2 recruited Nrl- 4 recruited TVS- 5 recruited Ashok layland- 3 recruited Hero motors- 5 recruited Cognizant- 13 recruited The highest placement is offered 24 lakh per year from Oil India Limited to a student of Mechanical Engineering . Nearly 50% of the student get placed or get an offer My plan after getting is to secured a job in oil India Limited.
Fees and Financial Aid
When i was in 1st year of the college i paid ?57900. The fee structure per year is given below: 1. Admission fees(include registration fees+ tution fees): ?15000 2. Caution fees : ?7000 3. Lab fees : ?2000 4. Hostel fees : ?30000 5. Exam fees(includes 1st semester and 2nd semester exam fees) : ?3900 This is the fee structure of the college per year which we have to pay every year. For the students who are economically weak are provided free Admission under Poor Schoolarship Fund which is provided to them from the college's Stdent welfare branch.
Campus Life
The annual festival of our college is PYROKYNESIS which is held in the mid of February it is the biggest fest taht took place in entire northeast after Alcheringa. Also the college organise many cultural festival every months. Like SINAKI, FRESHMEN, COLLEGE FESTIVAL, and many other program for freshers. The classroom has digital board and a projectors to run slides as well for visualisation. The college offers many sports and others extracurricular activities which include cricket, volleyball, football, table tennis, lawn tennis, basketball, chess and gymnasium Where everybody can participate on basis on their interests and enthusiasm. I dont about any student runs club but i have a senior who is starting a start up and i think this will bring us motivation on positive aspect.
Hostel Facilities
My hostel is 3 storeys and has a total of 65 room. In each room 2 student are alloted.Tge room has 2 light, 2 fans, 2 bed and 2 tables. Also the hostel provide us high speed wifi connection. The meal quality of the mess is somehow good not good every day sometimes we get good meal if we are fortunate. The registration process of the hostel is that the college provide us hostel at the time of admission. And each year we need to change the hostel. The total mess fee of each month is ?3000 which is fair and fine.
Admission
I choose this college because of the good placement scenarios as well as the prominent faculties who has much experience on the respective field also i heard about the extra circular activity of the college which help in developing one's critical thinking of students. I also applied for Jorhat Engineering College, Tezpur University but i choosed Assam Engineering College over the other College because of the prominency of the college and the good placement scenerio. Since it is the first Engineering College of the north east so i was eager to join the college at any aspects. I didn't get rejected from any of the colleges. I don't choose because i found Assam Engineering College to be best in every aspect so i choose this college. The admission process of my college is They conduct CEE exam where the meritious students get alloted during the counseling and after the counseling get over the college gives one notice to join the college paying the admission fees.
Faculty
The faculty to students ratio is 1:4, the relationship of faculties and students are likes father and kid. The solve our issues without any arrogance or ignorance. The name of the faculties i like is Mr. Piyush Singh and Mr Devatshi Kashyap. I like them because one of them is my mentor and other is my favourite subject teacher, gor only him i fall in love with Engineering Mechanics. There are 2 exams each year which is conducted by Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU).The level of the paper is moderate neither difficult nor easy. 75% pass the exam and other 25% are those who got back in any subjects.
