The college clubs are really fun to join.
The fines for attendance shortage are quite nominal

Dislikes

No ac classrooms and it becomes really hot in summers
No internships are provided by the college
There are hardly any college fests and it leads to boredom

Well there's a lack of practical knowledge, the theoretical knowledge is provided but it's hardly of any use in the practical world. There are various subjects that provide some useful knowledge such as taxes and economics. But there are wasteful subjects such as management which is repeated in 12th class

Placement Experience

Our college provides placement, famous companies such as deloite visit our college but the average packages they provide is just 5-6 lpa which is quite less in the modern world. After this degree we have to pursue a post graduation in order to get a good package.

Fees and Financial Aid

Well Currently I'm in second year the fees for the first year was 37500 whereas for the second year it was 41000 so yeah it's definitely increasing. But still my whole degree will be completed in 1.5 lac which is quite affordable.

Campus Life

The social life of the college is quite good . There are college clubs and all which are really good and make us gain a lot of experience. Most of the days there are some flash mobs or something like that going in the college campus which makes it fun

Admission

I chose this college because I wanted to stay local only and considering the other colleges in Chandigarh this is the best college available for Bcom. The cutoffs for this college was quite high as compared to other colleges

Well the staff members and teachers are really good and the colleges conduct Msts which are of moderate level . The semester wise exams are conducted by the Panjab University which are of moderate level as well

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is not hard ofcourse but it's pretty old fashioned and non modernistic . No technology inculcation in the curriculum. Difficulty level is not much . There should be modernisation of the curriculum. More technology inclusion . More tech based learning . More practical education.

THE LIFE AT DAV COLLEGE

Placement Experience:

We do have a training and placement cell which is run mostly run by both students and teachers. Students with good percentile can sit for placements and can get place into companies which are mostly from BPO and sales background. Students are eligible for campus placements in their 5th semester. Companies which have came in our college in 2024-2025 are Sri ram insurance , Kotak insurance , Planet spark , De shaw , Zomato etc. Highest package offered is around 5 LPA and average package is around 1.5 LPA. I have planned to go for higher studies after my graduation, most probably I will be doing MBA.

Application for this college is easy process. You just need to fill a form from dhe.chd.gov.in for which you have to pay very nominal fee ( i paid 70rs in 2023). Teaching methods are okay.likr there's so such thing that college is in Chandigarh so better teachers or something.

Placement Experience:

From 5th semester onwards students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like tech mahindra, airtel, delloitte,etc visited for campus Placements. The highest package this year was 9 Lakhs. And average package this year was 6 lakhs. Near around 97% students got campus placement. After getting degree my plan is to opt for MBA in finance from a good reputed college .

Elgibility was easy as people for any background rather say commerce , arts , non medical or medical . College doesnt have any entrance exam for admission.Students are admitted through centralized admission under DHE chandigarh. Eligibiltity of my course was just on my 12th class's board percentage. You can find the application form, application fees and application dates on the official website of GGDSD COLLEGE, CHANDIGARH There are reservered seats for specific castes although i am from general category so i did not get any type of reservation. The exams are held every 5 to 6 months after the semester end. And they are held from 9:30am to 12:30pm and 2 pm to 5pm.
