Faculty members of the department (Both teaching and non teaching staffs)
Classrooms- spacious with a capacity of accommodating 100 students

Dislikes

Wifi- available only for the teaching and administrative members
Only 1 seminar hall. Becomes congested when multiple events are scheduled in the same day
Some PCs in the computer lab don’t function

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is comprehensive along with practical knowledge wherein the professors take you out for field trips. Apart from that, there is a practical subject every semester wher you will be preparing projects for assessment.

Class Size: 90Course Fees: INR 8000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees for BA. Hons. Geography in Shaheed Bhagat Singh College was around Rs. 8000. This included geography lab fees, computer lab fees and library fees. Payment to be completed before the semester exams. Hence, the annual fees will have to be paid semi annually.

Campus Life

College life in SBSC is excellent wherein students from good academic background join. There is an annual fest. The infrastructure supported creative pursuits, fostering a collaborative environment for growth

Admission

I chose this college because it is known to be one of the best college for geography. There are only few college that have geography as a part of their academic course and this college comes under top 10 in India

Faculty

The faculty members of Geography honors are very experienced. They are very friendly and consider you as a member of the family since day 1. Bonding with them increases during field trips, atleast 2 during the entire course of three years. Facutly to student ratio is about 1 teacher for every 7 students.

Truth About Hidden IPCW (DU)

Placement Experience:

Since i am 2nd year myself, hearing from seniors, seeing placement cell activities and reading reports, placement at ipcw are decent but far from perfect. The placement drive is not as huge or reliable as some commerce Acc. to the nirf report, for ug courses out of 1204 eligible students 118 got placed, which is roughly 9-10, for pg course, out of 100 eligible students only 6 got placed. Median package for UG was 6.20 lakhs per annum, and for pg is 6.7 lakhs per annum. In earlier years (2022-23) , median UG package was higher. The highest package went to 23 lakhs per annum which was quite impressive. It was from DE Show and co., Wipro, Capgeminie etc. there are regular recruiters like DE. Shaw abd co.,Wipro, Capegemini, Godrej properties, Sirion Labs etc. What i feel personaly as an eco hons. student unless i build extra i cant really expect placement. Masters and competetive exams are next option
