Course Curriculum Overview
I was good in literature in my school times and that influenced me to choose this course. As an English Literarture student I could say that it helped my vocabulary and I can use it in my further studies and also in many career like, writing journals and freelance typing, I can also pursue my knowledge in teaching literature in schools and colleges. As far as I have gained knowledge, I dont see any requirement in improving things, the teaching methods is quiet good and should keep the way as it is. As there were annual exams, the syllabus used to reach to a vast level which becomes quiet difficult to cope up with, therefore cracking the examinations with a pass level marks becomes tough, although question papers during exams were not so tough, one could pass with better marks if given effort through out the year.
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise fees that I paid was maximum upto 10000 or less, The tuition fees was 1000 to 2000 aproximately, caution fees and registration fees were 2000, admission fees included 2000 as well, there was no lab fees included, but library fees was upto 500 or 600 per course, compulsory charges included the admission and and of college union. I was in general catogory and few of my batchmates those were in other catogories such as obc or st had to pay less but not with a big difference. There were scholarships available under goverment based, but since my college was an autonomous college it didn't provide any particular scholarships ffor students, but my college provided internal placements sometimes.
Campus Life
Every year there is a fresher program which is conducted by the seniors of the college, it is basically a welcome program for the new students, also every year during winters our college also conducted an annual program which is named as Nexus and it is quite fun. The library of St.Pauls college is known to be the most oldest library in town, and also it is the most beautiful among few, the infrastucture might be low but it is beautiful in its own way, with many books including old and new, you can find any. The facilities and technological provisions within the classrooms is always good and evironment friendly. Our college campus has the most biggest ground among many, annual sports and programs is always a regular schedule. The college has a union which is mostly run by the seniors of the college or the alumnis, but they were always welcoming to new members as well.
Admission
The colleges that I tried to take admisssion was St.Xaviers, Bethune and many more, but I got confirmed admission from St.Paul's college, hearing it was renowned college and also it was a cathedral mission college which was my favourite part as I belonged from a convent school. The admission fees was less and the course fees was also affordable comparing to other colleges. I got rejected from the other colleges as my 12th marks was not upto to mark, although I cleared it with 80 percent. No sooner I got admission in St.Pauls college as my marks was accepted there. The cut off was quite low and fortunately I made it there. There were no admission exams conducted but I made through it just by merit.
Faculty
The faculty to student ration is 1:4. The faculty to student relationship was quite good and the faculty was approachable to the students as well. My favourite faculty was Sidharth sir as he was the best professor according to my opinion, he always had a good way of teaching and bonding with the students. There were 3 annual exams and the honors papers were quiet tough to clear, there were many students that couldn't clear the exams, but also the number of passing students was quiet good as well, The course curriculum was quiet relevant.
