What Students Say
Likes
- Everything here is controlled by the college. The college manages to maintain order throughout tue college despite having thousands of students studying here.
- The campus is absolutely huge and stunning. It is always well maintained with greenery and 24/7 security to ensure the safety of the students at all hours.
- The facilities available at LPU is very commendable. They have really updated Mac labs and many more for students who wish to use those.
Dislikes
- The only thing I dislike about LPU is the number of students they take in. There are literally more than a thousand student studying for CSE each year which makes the competition absolutely intense.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is well structured and thought out. Obviously the first year of engineering has all the domains of engineering so we have to get past the first year with everything we have. The 2nd year onwards we will start studying the subjects focused on our course. They teach us in a way that gets us ready for practical skills as well. In a semester, we have mid term exams, end term exams as well as 3 continuous assessment tests to test our knowledge and understanding ability for the subject.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fees for my course per year is Rs 2,80,000 plus examination fee of Rs 4,500 per sem. Students who wish to study here for engineering need to write LPUNEST entrance exam. According to the marks scored in the exam, you will be awarded scholarship. There is no category wise fees at LPU. Every student pays the same amount of fees. Other engineering courses apart from CSE has a fee of Rs 2,40,000 per year and the tuition fees are paid per sem. So for example if your tuition fees are 2,40,000 per year, then you'd have to pay Rs 1,20,000 in the first semester and the rest during the second semester. Although if you do avail hostel and mess facilities, you have to pay the full amount for those facilities for whole year at the start aling with fees of first semester. The tuition fees are comparatively affordable if compared with other private colleges.
Campus Life
The Lovely Professional University campus lies across 700 acres of land. There are basically every course offered here apart from medicine and many clubs and events. There'll be an event basically every day here on the campus organised by various departments. The central library at LPU is nothing short of amazing. There are thousands of books available for the students who wish to avail them. Every sport you can think of, it is mostly played here at LPU. This year, there were 24 students of LPU representing India at the Olympics in Paris so that just answers the importance of sports at LPU. There are also many extracurricular activities such as NCC, NSS and many more available here for students who wish to participate in them.
Admission
I am from Kerala, India. So originally I was planning on studying computer science in a college in Kerala. But I coincidentally came across LPU while going through the top ranked engineering colleges in India on the NIRF ranking. LPU was highly ranked in many categories on NIRF as well as many other ranking lists such as Times Higher Education, QS World Rankings and many more. Therfore, I looked into it on the LPU website and their placements were excellent too. I then applied for the LPUNEST entrance exam. Scored good and was awarded scholarship and I thought it was a great opportunity for me.
Faculty
The faculty members here at Lovely Professional University are definitely deserved to teach here. 99% of the faculty here are PhD graduates who teach very efficiently and clears any doubts we have on the spot.
