Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is designed with specific course outcomes for the student in mind. Every branch has subjects and modules that cover all the necessary topics an engineer of that field needs ro call themselves an engineer in the real world.on an average every subject carries around 6 modules in a total of subjects per semester. Even though the syllabus is all covered it is pretty compact and needs flexibility. Also the course duration doesn't compliment the amount of syllabus to be covered which is something to be looked into while entering the course. Class tests are conducted every month in total of 3 and finally the end semester examination. The exams are pretty much based on PYQs and are average in difficulty level

Admission
I personally choose this college because this is the oldest engineering college in my state which means more faculty experience and more placement opportunities. Also, it is situated in the heart of the city so you get more exposure to work and gain experience. As compared to this college other colleges are new and have less experienced faculties and placement opportunities. I got this college in the first round itself as this was my first choice. To take admission here we have to clear the state engineering exam named CEE which is held once a year. It is an MCA-based exam of PCM subjects each carrying 160 marks to a total of 480 marks. Students in the top 400 of the general category easily get admission to AEC in the top core branches.
Faculty
The college comes under The Assam science and technology university which have 7 more engineering college under them throughout Assam. The curriculum and exam sysytem is set by them accordingly. The student to teacher ratio varies with different departments but as a whole it is pretty average considering that every 5 student gets one mentor. So the mento mentee ratio is 1:5. Most of the faculties are friendly only.As far as my mechanical faculty goes they are a bit strict but are helpful when needed. One semester in the college lasts around four and a half months during which three internal tests are comducted and one end semester examination. The marking system for the exams are pretty average but if you write even a few lines on a topic you are sure to get marks.
