Course Curriculum Overview

4

I love painting and i had decided at an early age to study further in this field. After i learned about the program, i researched more into field, got to know of the subjects, a variety of them such as painting, sculpting, printmaking that come under classical art and subjects such as visual graphics, advertisement theory, typography, illustration that come under applied arts. Applied arts unlike painting honors provides job security as it is commercial. Companies hire artists for package designing, advertisement making, etc. I feel like they should add teaching more about the outside trends and meanings and references behind them rather than just telling what is to be done. A background always helps make room for more ideas. Exams in my personal experience are not a very stressful task, we always know what to do when we read the question and there's little to no space for confusion. We have projects, home assignments, viva and at last the end semester exams. The timings are balanced.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The tuition fees for every year is divided between two semesters to be paid equally so i paid 73000 for tuition fees and 20000 as the security amount so in total 93000. The security money will be repaid after the course of 4 years. For the second semester again 73000. After 3rd and 4th semester i have to pay 77000 for each (1, 54,000 for 2nd year). After 5th and 6th semester I'll be paying 81000 for each ( 1,62,000 for 3rd year). And for the last two semesters i.e., 7th and 8th semesters I'll be paying 85500 for each (1,71,000). Therefore for the duration of my 4-year course I'll pay an amount of around 6,33,000. For registration, i had to get affidavits made and an indemnity bond. Over all that cost less than 500. Good scholarship is offeredoffered and upto 100%. A friend of mine received 92% in her 12th board exams and received upto 50% scholarship. Scholarship is updated based on their performance per semester and if sgpa recedes below 7.5%.

Campus Life

4

Festivals such as diwali, holi, pongal, onam, navratri, independence day, republic day and others are celebrated in the H block of the campus. Most of the functions are held after august along with departmental and university Freshers, when newcomers join in. The library is big with great collection of books in all genres and are neatly kept. A library card is issued and the library can be accessed with the ID card only. Classrooms have good and sufficient amount of light and fans along with AC. The inside of the blocks are also provided with ACs. A huge football court, basketball and badminton court along with a gym is provided. The sangathan is an organization under the university that encourages students to participate in sports, gymnastics, yoga etc and often holds events for the same. Instituational clubs such as cultural and quiz clubs are provided in my course aling with domain clubs such as textile and fashion clubs.

Admission

i had heard about Amity University Uttar Pradesh and about their excellent faculty, great beautiful campus and placement packages. Since private colleges don't have many reservations and more number of seats, it's way easier to get into. I applied for government colleges such as visva bharati university, rabindra bharati university and banaras hindu university. I went to Visva bharati uni last year, did excellent in practical exam but received less marks in viva and thus my admission got cancelled. In AUUP, the admission process begins with filling online application, mentioning all the important details about yourself and your academics. Then a practical exam and interview date is scheduled. After you've been selected, starts the registration process, which requires original documents that were submitted online. Face biometric is taken and ID cards are received. students that failed 12th boards are ineligible. Students prefer offline entrance exams.

Faculty

4

The faculty is good and highly approachable. They do not exercise extreme strictness and liberal with the submission of assignments so that students can perform their best in the proper amount of time that is provided. Our PL, Dr. Geetika Kaw Kher is an extremely compassionate person , she's knowledgeable and approachable. Mr. Swapan Bhandary is a person of experience and shares them with his valuable teachings. Mr. Rajeev Sharma is funny, kind and very approachable, he suggests effective ways to solve problems that students bring to him. Students who have less than 75% of attendance in a subject, they are debarred from appearing in the exam of that particular subject. For students who have missed classes of most of the subjects have to appear for back paper. Chances of failure after attempting the paper is quite less unless it's filled with junk or left blank. The assignments are given in accordance to the current scenario of trend & demand in the field in the outside world.

Other Applied Colleges

Visva-Bharati | Bachelor of Fine Arts [BFA] {Hons.} (Painting)

i was skeptical whether or not I'd get admitted this year since i didn't, last year because of quota.
