Academics, fun and all about life at Kanpur Institute of Technology

It was great, my course was of 4 years and this time period, I have gained great knowledge in my field. The teachers help you too with learning new and better things that are not even in the course. Many workshops are being held that allows students to learn new things. Educational trips are also being held and is a part of the course. In the final year, educational trip is a subject where students get to choose the places they want to visit that can add value to their studies and after the trip a report has to be prepared on what students learnt from it. My course has been so fun because of all these aspects. I can say that if one pursues bfa from here they will evolve alot and get better in every aspect.

In my course, in 3rd year internship is a subject.. so students are sent for internships at great places by their own choices and after the completion of the internship, the students have to prepare a report also on what they learnt. I did two internships in my entire course from 2nd year. As i was a designer, the internship I did in Lucknow helped me so much, after the internship my designing skills and the software knowledge was so much better and professional.

From 3rd year, students are eligible for placements. Many companies have visited and many students have been placed. Companies like Infosys, HCL technologies, IDBI Bank, NIIT, Hindustan Unilever Limited, Tech Mahindra, IGATE, Alembic pharmaceuticals and many more. The highest package is 24 lakhs and average is 7-8 lakhs. I am graduated and pursuing master of fine arts from CSJM university.

The yearly fees was ?59,700 and eash semester ? 29,850 was submitted. An amount of ?700 was submitted each year as exam fees. There was no lab fees or any other fees for books or anything in my course. Scholarship is also available for students whose parent's annual income is less than 3 lakhs. Overall, it is affordable and the staff and faculty are very understanding for students who may have financial issues.

Many events are being held with complete involvement of students. One annual fest Enginious is held every year in which pass out students are also welcome. Freshers is held, udhav which was an art exhibition held by BFA students every year before diwali in which faculties and students come to buy handmade products from students.. it is a great initiative as students also feel confident and learn how to interact with people and present their own work as artists. Farewell is also held, other than these many other promotional events are held by brands that offer free products to students and also conduct dance or other activities. Sports events are also conducting and ecah year on republic day a cricket match is held in which teachers also participate and play..many other competitions are held and zonal as well.. in which students get to step out of their college and go to other to compete and win on national level. I myself have won many certificates, trophies etc.

I only applied for this as i did not want to leave my hometown and in kanpur this is the best college for my course. It is now Naac accredited . I directly got admission here and did not give any exams or anything.

Faculties are great, very friendly and approachable. They are also very present for students, ready to help. My Hod miss shalini sharma, has always tried to push students in giving their best. I myself am a silver medalist in all over aktu in Bfa..and she has helped me reach here as she was always paying attention to each and every student knowing their best strengths and tried to make them shine more in it. She has always encouraged me to give my best and participate in every competition or event so that I can be out there confidently as well. Exam pattern is like, class test are held then sessional exams in which one or two units are in syllabus, then PUT which is pre university exams and then final semester exams. The marking is good, if you have written correctly you get marks for it, and in semester exams fill the copy as much as you can.

It was great.. the canteen is almost always full with students and chitter chatter.. sometimes students are playing guitar and singing songs in the canteen as well..the library is good ad well , gym is also there open at all times for every student. Timings for campus is different for courses, it was same for everybody in the morning that is from 9 am but then it depends on how many classes the student has in their course. Mine used to end at 5 in evening. The area is a little outer so the hostel timings are a little early only. But otherwise it is safe, the guards also are very helpful they help students cross roads as well.
