Course Curriculum Overview
My decision to opt for this course stems from my interest in computer engineering and some aspects of electronic engineering. I feel that this programme has a lot of potential Since this is a relatively a new course, there are a lot of areas where the department needs to pay attention. I feel some subjects are repetitive in our curriculum and some where the professors lack their proficiency. Assigning a better faculty and deciding on a good curriculum could easily tackle this issue in my humble opinion.
Fees and Financial Aid
Hi, I am a 3 rd year student currently pursuing B.Tech in Cyber Physical Systems. The first year fees for all the branches is same for all the student , mine was 3.52 lakhs For the subsequent years the college fees is 4.52 lakhs for my programme
Campus Life
Although there a number of events that take place throughout the year , the most well renowned are the two fests , Tech Tatva and Revels. Tech Tatva is held in mid week of October whilst Revels which is a cultural fest is held somewhere in March. The library in MIT is one of the most organized and detailed one you would find in the country. Plenty of books from different authors are made available and one could borrow them by issuing them. The classrooms are well equipped , projector The campus boasts a variety of sports and extra curricular activities including swimming , table tennis , cricket, athletics , football, basketball , volleyball etc Some well-respected student-run social groups are OLS , mit_talkboard etc.
Hostel Facilities
There are distinct facilites that are provided according to the room that one gets alloted. There are AC rooms with double sharing in 8, 9, 16 and 17 respectively. Whilst the 5 and 6 blocks are known for having common washrooms and a more hostel like environment comparitively. There are cloak rooms , TT rooms , TV rooms a night canteen to fulfill the late night craving. The meal quality is really good and fulfulling with no compromise on the variety of the food.
Admission
Some other colleges where I applied were VIT, PES University, and colleges affiliated to COMEDK examination, and MH-CET exam. I didn't get a good rank in VIT's entrance examination for my preferred branch. For PES University I had my doubts since I had heard from my friends and my relatives that other branches in PES University except Computer Science, were not satisfactory. In COMEDK, i had an average rank but I opted for manipal solely because my sibling had studied there and had a plenty of positive feedback. The eligibility process is quite simple where one is to register and apply for the entrance exam for Manipal called MET. You are assigned a rank and the cutoff sheet is released in a few days .
Faculty
The faculty-to-student ratio is about 1:12 , which is a considerably good statistic for private colleges in the country. There are some good professors in my department , namely Kapil sir who taught me sensor technology. As of now, the exam schedule consists of a mid term examination and a final examination which are evaluated for 30 marks and 50 marks resepectively , the remaining 20 marks are divided into 2 quizzes of 5 marks and 2 assignments of 5 marks each . The course covers the basics of embedded systems , communication systems , data structure and algorithms to name a few.
