Course Curriculum Overview

I am preparing for UPSC , and optional subject is history, and I taken the course B.A (program)(economics+ History) , so from the exams point of view it helped me alot. History is the factual based subject related to past so it help you to get knowledge about the history and economic really plays a vital role in real world applications. Although apart from your disciplinary subject you have the option to choose Sectional and optional subject so there should be a subject added that helps you relate about politics, handling critical situation and real situation. Each sem last for 6 months so frequency of exams is 5 - 6 month.

Faculty

Teachers have always guided us in good way, they always suggest us what is best for us, teacher and student bond is really very good they always behave like a guardian which is in my thoughts good for a student I like devanshu sir the most , I leaned economics from him he was the best faculty, he has a friendly nature and a guardian behaviour too. His teaching method was awesome. About the exam pattern :- my course duration is 3 yrs. So there are total 6 sem You have read 4 subjects in each sem Before the semester exam you need to appear for international assessment test which is of 25 marks - attendance (5) + assignment (10)+ written test (10) you need to qualify IA with minimum 10 marks then only you can sit for semester exam which is of 75 marks So your each semester exam is of 100 marks - 25+75. Exams level is moderate ,not too easy to take it as granted or not too hard to stressed about.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
