Course Curriculum Overview

4

Some of the teachers are very helpful, especially the HOD of our electrical department helps us a lot. The curriculum is well equipped with latest industry relevant skills. The practical experements need to be done more often. There are 1 set of exams in each month and they are pretty tough

Internships Opportunities

4.5

I have interned in Ongc dehradun Various organisations also come to our college for internship opportunities. Like Tech Mahindra, nucleus, I have worked on diesel generator in ONGC dehradun from June 4 2024- July 6 2024

Placement Experience

4

From the seventh semester students are eligible for campus placements Various companies such as Infosys, Honeywell and HCL arrived in our campus placement drives and hired more than 50 students a year. Highest package was 8LPA and the average package was 3.7 LPA My plans after the degree is to prepare for govt exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have been paying academic fees of 60000 INR per year There are some consideration based on the students economic background and his/ her academic background I have been paying the hostel fees of 60000 INR per year from 2022 to 2023 but from 2024 the hostel fees increased from 60000 to 64000.

Campus Life

4

There is one annual fest in April, one freshers party in October and one farewell in May. The library is vast and has all sorts of books from various publications. The classroom is well equipped with projector and wifi is also pretty decent. There is one sport event that takes place every year.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel are good but number of students arriving are getting higher so the hostels are getting little congested. The meals are hygienic but not that much tasty The hostel charges are 64000 per year I have not rented a PG or room.

Admission

The location suited me and I had many seniors known in this college that is why I chose this college. I had various options open for me such as SRM, Haridwar University, RIT, Graphic era etc but JBIT was most affordable and had higher package. I took admit though the merit basis shortlisting of my diploma score.

Faculty

4.5

In electrical department in a single year there are roughly 10-15 students in each year and there are 6 faculties. There are two mid term exams and a final semester exam the marking in internal examinations are fair but the university marking sceme is inconsistent. There are total 3 sets of theory exam of each subject and 2 sets of practical exam along with two vivas. In electrical department hardly 1-2 students recieve backlogs in more than 1 subject.

Placement Experience:

In GEU placements are like such that we don't have to bother at all. We are approached by placements cell in the 5th semester and then are trained for the whole month and then university urges us to go for internships to have the required exposure and have a CV which can impress the recruiters first hand. Thus, we get placement which median as of now is 8.5 lakhs.

Specific aspects of the circullum that influenced my decision to choose this course is the computer science department as I love knowing about the computer and the efforts of making daily life problems easy and best thing is that if know how to use the computer well you can earn well enough of money in this world the world only cares about that you have money or not if have they will give you respect if don't have it they treat you like shit.

Students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester of Btech course. Companies like BigOH, GrowUp, L&T, Rubico, QI Technologies, Mahindra, BEL, etc. visit the campus for on-campus placements and the no. of placements in the year 2023-24 was 113. The placement details are given in the official website of the college. The highest package offered was 12 LPA by BEL and the lowest was 3 LPA. Most of the students go for GATE and don't sit for campus placements. I would go for GATE for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements starts after completion of degree although students apply for internships from 3rd year, many companies like amazon, google, Microsoft, flipkart, TCS, wipro, and many core companies like dr. Reddy, relience visit our campus for placement. But it becomes really difficult to get placement in a core company because of competition almost 80-90% students of my branch got placed most of them in non core. Highest package go around 50 lpa and average go around 15-20 lpa. I am also planning to get placement after completing my degree
