What Students Say?
Likes
- Very affordable fees for poor and middle class students.
- Very passionate teaching staff and knowledgeable professors.
Dislikes
- Too much politics in this university, if you join college you'll see a lot of protests and strikes every month.
- If you want to pursue bcom, then please don't choose the main campus because it has separate class rooms and different timings for boys and girls
Course Curriculum Overview
I was influenced to as bcom because I was from commerce background in my highschool and inter. The curriculum of this college does not prepares for real-world applications because it has no practical teaching like DU and other big universities. The studies are only for examination purpose not for real-world applications. There is only 1 exam of six subject in every year that's conducted mostly in march and the exams are easy not very difficult to be honest but the marking scheme is very hard, (The most highest score percentage a student can expect is 75%, Average students gets 45-55% only).
Placement Experience
In the final year of bcom and bsc course students get eligible for campus placements. Companies like Wipro, tcs, etc has made various offers with students every year. Placements vary every year but you can expect the highest package of 8 LPA and average package of 5 LPA (these packages are usually offered by azim premji foundation and Deloitte) Percentage of students getting placements are very low, it would be around 1-5% students who gets placement. My plans after getting my degree is to go for CA, CPA, ACCA and in worst case scenario MBA.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
The year-wise fees I'm paying year is approx 4000 (Total cost of b.com course is 12000 rupees) In prayagraj the tuition of bcom course is around somewhere between 6000 to 12000 rupees per year ( I paid rupees 9000 for both 1st and 2nd year), registration fees was 100 rupees, admission fees was 4000 (including 1st year fees), No lab fee, no other charges during the course. There is no quota for fees, every has to pay rupees 4000 every year. There are 2 types of scholarship in our college, 1st one is UP scholarship program by UP government and 2nd one is from University itself (students who perform good get's this scholarship).
Campus Life
There are Fresher and farewell party every year held between April-May, and there are also special festivals like kavi sammelan ane talent competitions which can be held in any month. The accessibility of books and journals are brilliant in the library because there are separate libraries at every college and a main central library which is huge and has almost every book a student needs. The facilities of technical provisions within the classrooms are not good actually. Like you will never get a chance to use a computer or any other technical equipment. Sports are a very good part of our college because you will get a very good sports ground at most of the colleges (especially the main campus, it's very huge and beautiful) and you'll also get a common gym at every college. But talking about extracurricular activities, Keep your expectations low because the university only wants you to study, study and study!
Admission
In the 2022 CUET exam I applied for University of Delhi and babasaheb bhimrao ambedkar University and University of allahabad, and I was selected for all three of them but I chose allahabad because it is in my home city and my financial condition wasn't good enough to go to outside of my city. I scored very good in CUET and didn't get rejected from any college. The admission process of my college is through the CUET exam, for bcom is 12th pass, The only way to get into this university for undergraduate courses is CUET, Cutoffs for main campus and ECC (Ewing christian college) is very high but there are other good colleges of allahabad University with moderate Cutoffs.
Faculty
The faculty is huge and there are many students and the relationship between them is Okayish (Neither good nor bad) and the faculty is quite approachable. Talking about the main campus, Science and art faculty are the ones I like the most because they are huge and very beautiful infact they have all the facilities a student needs. The only problem is with commerce faculty! It looks like a typical government school and it's very small as compared to science and arts faculty. There are only yearly exams that are conducted only once a year, The difficultly level actually quite hard and the passing percentage in bcom course is 45-50 every year (more than half of the students face backlog and year back). Course curriculum is quite relevant, I see no problem in it so it's fine like the other universities.
