Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The exam curriculum palys a important parts in our upcoming life. It fully focused on the concepts that we learnt during the class.I would like to suggest the Basic electrical engineering lab activities, where the lab stuffs explained as if we had already learnt.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

We did internship in Guwahati Municipal corporation., which was the memorable event for us.we get intereactions with the senior engineers. Oil india also provide the internship in the final year, where students get to learn the real applications of the knowledge.

Placement Experience

4.5

Talking about the placements in our college it's pretty good.Deserving students get placed. Placemen average package is about 800000.Some companise like LNT, NRL,Oil India visited every year in our college.i have a plan to start my own business.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly fees has a little deflections starting from 20000. Admission fees changes every year , around 14500. Registeration fees is around 1300. But for my friends who is general category is 1500. Some scholarships are available, like ishan Uday. poor fund scholarship for the BPL students.

Campus Life

4.5

The most awaited annual fest in our college is pyrokinesis. It is celebrated in the month of January last week.Talkng abouth the library, all books are available.you just need to submit the name of the books you want.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facilities are Very good with a minimum fees. There is a non veg meal alternatively. There is also a cooler in the mess and the good part is that Everyone follows the rules and regulations of the Mess.

Admission

Firstly I choiced this college because it belongs in our home state, and the second the fees here is affordable as per course. To get admission vin this college one has to appear the combined entrance exam.

Faculty

4

The ration of faculty to student is 1:20. Faculties are very friendly, they explain very wel in the class,l. We can also connect them by whatsapp,or call . Among them I like the professor Mitali mandal maam, because she is so friendly that we can ask our doubts unlimited times. And also i dislikes some teachers,it is not because they are not good but due to their explanation style,

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant and is different for different branches according to their needs. I was interested in civil engineering and chose the course and find the curriculum intersting and relevant for me . The curriculum offers subject which are important for real world applications, like in civil engineering it's offers subjects like building construction, solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, material testing, serving, etc. The course curriculum is very good but the teaching methods needs improvement like more digitalization . The exams frequency and timings are neither too late nor too early, they are perfectly planned and executed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There exists a good teaching staff that's why the course is very easy to understand also teachers give us good examples also do practicals so that's students understand the course easily . I see that there exist a low no of equipments in practical lab compare to it's students ratio so if they have a good no of equipments then all students get equipment to do experiment without any waste of time . Time is good as compare to marks and the first 30 marks are beginner level the other 40 marks are intermediate level and the remaining 30 Marks are advanced level questions in a question paper for the students they published.

Placement Experience:

Placements start from 7th semester (4th Year). Companies like Amazon, Legato, TCS, Synopsis, etc. visit for on campus placements. We have a very good placement ratio and average package. For CSE, the average package was 13 LPA and 92% students were placed. While for ECE, the average package was 8 LPA and 66% students were placed. I'm planning on gaining work experience for 2 years after my B.Tech and then pursue MS Or M.Tech from abroad.

So, in Whole northeast Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology is the no 1 and the oldest private engineering college and I decided to take admission there.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario is quite good, with several reputed companies like General Electric, Power Grid Corporation of India, Goldman Sachs, among others recruiting 94 percent of the students in the college. The placement takes place in three rounds, one testing one's aptitude, followed by an hour round, finally leading on to a technical round. Mock interview and job cracking sessions are organized regularly, both by the departments, and also the Training and Placement Cell, to prepare students for the interviews and examinations going forward. The Training and Placement Cell also provides internship opportunities at the end of third year for the students, based on their aptitude and abilities

Remarks:

I have mostly positive remarks about college except for the fact that the college is situated really far from mainstream north India. Train connectivity is not that strong to rest of country. But despite that the college is extremely good in the sense of learning, meeting new innovative minds, and of course placements and jobs.
