Course Curriculum Overview

4

The civil engineering department of this college has numerous projects and consultance. This made me to choose this college. The curriculum of the department has set such a way that it more leads to the practical learning. Number of power point presentation, lab activities, and field studies are there to have practical skills. I just need little bit improvement in the time table of the classes. Timing of class are little over, that i feel. Class tests are also conducted for better problem solving of the students. The end semester examinations are pretty tough, but if you know the simple basics rule then you can easily simplify it.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The course in the college sets three intership. The internship are Social Internship, Academic Internship and Industrial Internship. This internship has to be done after 2nd semester, 4th semester and 6th semester respectively. This internship are part of the course curriculum. Along with this other internships are also provided under the AICTE.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements in this College is good enough. The Training and placement cell of this college plays a major role in inviting companies , and conducting the campus placement. Students are eligible after 6 semester that is they can apply in 7th semester for the placement. Companies like Oil India Limited, ONGC, NRL, Bharat Petroleum, Amazon, BHEL, BARC, Star Cement, Tata Chemicals, Infosys, TVS, BYJU's, Aditya Birla Group, Vedanta, Burger, DELL, SONY, Havels, Tech Mahindra, Samsung Electronics, TCS, Bharat Electronics, etc and many more visited here. The highest package is 24 LPA and average is around 8 LPA. About 60% of the students get placed every year. My plan after degree is to do higher studies.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The approximate fee to be paid per year is 15000 Rupees. Admission fees is around 2000 rupees. Other miscellaneous fees like for college fest, transport, library, T and P etc, is 9000 rupees. Approx 8000 rupees has to be paid for hostel security. Our college also provide Poor Fund scholarship for the eligible students, under this scholarship whole admission fees for the year is exempted for the eligible students.

Campus Life

4

The annual festival of this college is Pyrokinesis. The festival is of 4 days and are typically held in the month of February every year. The library of the college has a numbers of books for the course. The library sets an date and time for the distribution of the book for studies of each and every department. The classroom has a set up of digital board and projectors. Speakers are also set in the classrooms for better audibility. Different events of sports competition are conducted between hostels. And every year an annual sports meet of one week is conducted and there by declares the best hostel for over all activities. To develope skills along with studies many clubs are there. Clubs for hobbies like singing, dancing acting and more. Social active clubs are also ther to help the people in needs.

Hostel Facilities

4

The college hostels are also there for the students not residing in the city. Hostels room has 24 hrs of electricity and water. In a week different items are served in the meal. Healthy menu has been setup by the authority. At the end of the month Hostel feast are also there, with delicious menu. The hostel admission is 5000 and is one time. Mess dues is around 2500 every month. The hostel is affordable. Rent rooms and PG are also accessible for the studens who are not willing to stay in hostels.

Admission

Along with this college i had also Applied for Jorhat Engineering College. But this college was my first preference and I got it. This college is the oldest Engineering College in the entire Northeast India. This college has created numerous Engineers and they are serving to the society. The moto of this college " Service Before Self" itself has a good effect. The placement of this college is good. Many compies like Oil India, NRL, HAL erc visit here fore placements. Any many other reasons are there, that i choose this college over others. No, I do not get rejected from other colleges. This college was my first preference and I got selected in the first round of counselling, with my desired branch. To get selected in this college you to appear in Combined Entrance Examination (CEE), Assam. To appear in this exam you must a resident of Assam state. Students from other states (states in North East) can appear through JEE examination and then CSAB round of counselling.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty to student ratio is Good. Teachers can focus on each and every students which enhance the learning of the students. Teachers are open to solve any doubt and query of the students. Faculties like Mrs. Rhwitika Barman, Mitali Mandal, Dr. Jayanta Pathak etc. are very good , their explanation are very good and they are very good in interaction with students. Per semester there are two exams generally, one is Mid term and another is End semester examination. Students failing to clear the exam is quite high.
