Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is quite old and it should be updated to meet today's world . But the practicals were the same as other engineering colleges and quite good. The curriculum is good if you want to understand concepts.
Internships Opportunities
Aec gives you 3 internships to do social internship, academic internship, industrial internship. Social internship you can do in any ngo or public sector. Academic you can do in different colleges like iit, not etc. Industrial internship is provided by college in different companies. I did industrial internship in PGCIL.
Placement Experience
The placements come in the last year. And you can sit in placements from the 7th sem itself. Some tier 2 and 3 companies donot see you cgpa but tier 1 companies prefer if you have greater than 7 cgpa .
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise fees is around 12000 to 14000 and if you opt for hostels. Hostel admission fees is around 5000. Then you have to pay monthly for the food only which is around 2700. Moreover the exam fees per semester is around 2000. You can apply any scholarship you are applicable for in nsp portal. I am getting nec scholarship.
Campus Life
There are many clubs in aec coding club, mukha club which is acting, sovic which helps people like ngo, energy club, gdsc Google developers society etc.. the social life is quite good here in this beautiful nature surrounded by mountains and deepor beel on one side.
Hostel Facilities
You can apply for hostels in 1st year only. You get triple rooms in 1st year. Double rooms in 2nd year, single rooms in 3rd and 4th year. There is a one time establishment fees of 5000. And after that you only have to pay for food which is around 2700 per month.
Admission
I gave cee exam and preferred this college and got on the first try. It is quite easy then jee. Also this is the top state engineering college and the oldest engineering college of assam. I got electrical engineering at a rank of around 600 and it went as low as 1200.
Faculty
Some faculty members are good and will teach you good concepts. But some teachers just dictate from book without teaching us. The exams are quite easy if you follow the previous year and have good concepts which you can gain from YouTube.
