Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

My cource is geography honours, not many colleges of delhi university offers this and miranda has really a well equipped and active department of geography . It provides all the necessary equipments to perform task. A specific library is there for every department. Course is little bit difficult as it needs perfect understanding of the concepts and geography is more of a practical subjects so practicals become hectic

Internships Opportunities

3

Internship opportunities are available. Some with and some without stipend. Some are offered by college faculty itself and some are by some companies or group of individuals from any association. Teachers are running many projects on their own in which students can attach their own research. In placements many big international conpanies also come. Like GSI, census of india, amazon etc.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are really nice in my college specially in mathematics, economics ,statistics, commerce subjects. Courses like B.A don't have much but the education quality is great. Most of the people choose it to prepare for their competitive exams. Average package is 8 9 lakhs and the highest was like 61 lakhs in 2022. My course has Placements not that much but it has, offers upto 10 12 lakhs. My future plans is to go for government competitive exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am currently in second year and my fees for the second year is less than the first year. In my first year for my cource the fees was 17,400 inclusing tuition fees, college fees and all but for the second year it is 16,150 including all and for the third year it is less than that. Fee structure differs for every course, some have more like for commerce courses and some science courses and for some arts courses it is even less luke 14,200 for political science history etc.Therw are a number of scholarships for minorities like ews and for sc/st so they can take a lot of benefits

Campus Life

4.5

Infrastructure is great. Campus life and social networks and interactions are great. Very cosmopolitan with students from around the india some even from foreign.Classrooms have blackboard as well as projectors. A very huge library is there with more than 3 4 lakh bioks from international authors as well, magazines and over 20 newspaper all free of cost. A different section isn library for visually challenged people with computers installed in libraries as well. Many societies and clubs are there run by students and everyone can engege in their interested field. Fests are top notch and the annual fest tempest is awesome.

Admission

My first preference to be in miranda as it is the best college for females and it was the 1st ranked college according to nirf for the last 7 years, so i preferred it upon others. It has good academic performance and infrastructure faculties and facilities are great.

Faculty

4

Faculties are good, good in behaviour and teaching behaviour. Exams are like after every semester after 6 months with a practical if the subject is practical combined with viva. Exams are conducted in own college and under proper surveillance. In the middle of the semester there's a mid semester exams done just kike class tests and chapter tests to make you learn and that adds upto fibal results.

Area that should be improved that is treat every student similarly without any discrimination. Faculty don't even tdke action on sol, IGNOU and NCWEB students. So I think it should be improved firstly.

The curriculum is very broad and relevant, it covers both theory and practical aspects of the subject. It is very nice to prepare for further higher studies, though more real-world cast studies and interactive teaching.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is relevant to the current aspects of real world. It is also very focused on the practical component of the subject and helps us know how to apply our theoretical concepts in real life. Aspects that influenced me were: the practicality, the relatibiltiy of concepts and the testing approaches as well.

Placement Experience:

Since i am 2nd year myself, hearing from seniors, seeing placement cell activities and reading reports, placement at ipcw are decent but far from perfect. The placement drive is not as huge or reliable as some commerce Acc. to the nirf report, for ug courses out of 1204 eligible students 118 got placed, which is roughly 9-10, for pg course, out of 100 eligible students only 6 got placed. Median package for UG was 6.20 lakhs per annum, and for pg is 6.7 lakhs per annum. In earlier years (2022-23) , median UG package was higher. The highest package went to 23 lakhs per annum which was quite impressive. It was from DE Show and co., Wipro, Capgeminie etc. there are regular recruiters like DE. Shaw abd co.,Wipro, Capegemini, Godrej properties, Sirion Labs etc. What i feel personaly as an eco hons. student unless i build extra i cant really expect placement. Masters and competetive exams are next option

The course curriculum I took is okay considering the low placement percentage from the college's side which is I would say sometimes bad and good at the same time as the students can find their own way around such things. Faculty just complete the topics. we have to study ourselves.
