The ambience and the environment of the university is very peaceful.
The student union is helpful towards the students.
The social and cultural life in rbu is very good.

Dislikes

I wish I had a better social life. Although its my problem.
The english department could be better in executing regular classes.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is good. Our syllabus is quite similar to that of the other universities like CU. Our semesters are held in a gap of 6 months. Our question papers are quite standard and we are given topic lists on our respective topics.

Class Size: 89Course Fees: INR 3000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

About 3000 is needed in whole year. Admission fees is about: 450 Examination fees vary from 350-550 (Different for foreign students) We have a lot of foreign students in our class. So it varies for them.

Campus Life

I am a social person. I made a few friends and with them my social life in my university is quite good. Fests are organized 2 times a year: One departmental fest and one grand fest which are held by the department and the student union respectively. The student union is quite active for these events. Events are generally held during evening time.

Admission

I got admitted through merit. I scored 89 percent in class 12 boards. I was an sc candidate and was from cbse board. My name was published in the last merit list. Although the cut off was 50 percent, the competition was quite high and with 89 percent I got on the last list.

Faculty

There has been some Excellent professors in our department who teach very well. But there should be more teachers and more approaches made for learning for the students. Classes should be held more regularly.

A Peaceful, Culturally Rich Journey at Visva-Bharati University

Placement Experience:

Placements at VBU especially for courses like BA IN JAPANESE are limited. Most students do not receive offers through campus recruitment. However, the course opens up oppurtunities in fields like translation, interpretation and working with Japanese Companies especially for those who clear JLPT N2 or N1. After completing my bachelor's I plan to pursue an MBA as combining language skills with management education offers a strong edge in the global job market.

I have always wanted to persue English as a career. I love studying English but not a big fan of the new curriculum by NEP that includes a lot pf irrelevant papers. The semesters are not consistent. Odd semesters usually have a lot of time like 6-8 months but even semesters barely consist of 2-3 months.
