Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The main reason I chose computer science was because I was interested in learning more about technical aspects of the world. I would say until now, it's been a pretty good experience for me. There's been various hackathons, workshops, events and talk sessions about technology which fascinated me very well. All these are very useful for the future of our career. These were one of the many ways for us to gain experience in the tech world. The frequent exams conducted are beneficial for the student's educational journey. But the syllabus is quite outdated and it's high time it needs an update. I personally prefer to get an updated syllabus according to the updates in the technical world which would be great for our future.

Internships Opportunities

3

There are many internship opportunities provided by our college. Campus placement internships and other internships are also available. Internships come from nearby companies like techno park, Infosys, tvc, tata etc. Many projects are being given to the students during the internship.

Placement Experience

3

Our college provides campus placements from semester 7 onwards. But students are free to avail placements before that on their own risk. Many companies visit our college for campus placements like tvc, techno park, ust, tata, Infosys, Intel etc and these companies visit our college every year regularly. The average package given ranges from 2.5 to 3.5 LPA while the highest package ranges from 4.5 to 7.5 LPA. Around 90% of the students get placements either through campus placements or other placement methods. I plan to get into a good technological company after completing my degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

As it is a government controlled college, the tuition fees are quite average and is very affordable. Tuition fees for merit students are 36,750 rupees per year and tuition fees for management students are 68,250 per year. Many scholarships are given to students according to the criterias like percentage of marks, category, income and many others. Egrantz, pragati scholarship, IEEE wie scholarship and many many more scholarships are given to students in the college. There are also many ways to get stipends by doing internships and many internship opportunities are available in the college.

Campus Life

4.5

Many fests and programmes happen during the course of our study. Techno cultural fest renvnza is a big event which happens once in 4 years. Many other events like yuga, onam celebrations and Christmas celebrations occur annually. Mainly, technological events like hackathons, ideathons, workshops , seminars, talk sessions and events take place every month very frequently. There is a campus library and college library available and a good collection of books are available. The student run social and technological clubs such as IEDC, IEEE, GDSC, Mulearn, Tinkerhub, music club, dance club and many other clubs function successfully and are great ambassadors for the college. Sports club also organize many competitions for football, cricket, badminton, table tennis etc. The infrastructure is a bit of a problem as it is quite old and not of a good quality. The buildings require good care as of today's condition.

Admission

The admission into this college was on the basis of KEAM entrance exam conducted in Kerala. The score acquired in the entrance exam and plus two marks are considered in forming the ranklist for admission. The application form and details for the application fee and college fee are provided in cee Kerala website. Reservation categories recieve concession in their fees. The ranklists are also formed after taking reservation categories into consideration. The entrance exams are conducted in a fitful manner by following the rules and regulations strictly. The exam difficulty level is manageable for a student who works hard for their studies. The time duration taken for the annoucement of the results of the exams are quite long and would be better if it takes lesser time.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty members are nice and interactive. They teach with such good finesse so that every student understands what they teach. They take good care of the students and make sure everyone learns well and submits their assignments on time. The take care of the students individually. The are qualified for good college lecturers and have a high degree of education. The teachers help the students in solving the doubts regarding the studies and even help them in their social life if necessary. The are good humoured and good tempered which makes them good faculty members of the college.

The campus placements are decent. getting placed in a big company is more about having the technical and soft skills to pass the interviews. the placement training helps us develop soft skills but the technical skills must be developed ourselves.
