Remarks

Being on the highest platform, they have to stick to some things which students hate. Because even for a simple thing, we have to follow that system to complete it.

Entrance Preview

I scored 265/360 in JEE Mains. So I had an option of getting into top NIT's. But yeah IIT's have their own value. You can't take it off after cracking JEE advance too. I scored 192/360 in JEE advance and secured an AIR of 2541. You get a branch/college on your preferences you opt for after JEE Advance. So, I had to join the same or have to think of other options like NIT.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Pretty much organised. Professors let the students learn what exactly the course is about. They just give us a brief info on things. We have to understand what more have to be added to complete it. We will be provided with slides after the class. Classrooms are maintained at a high class. Professors just give the basics needed and let the students face challenges in understanding the subject.

Internships Opportunities

They offer us different scholarships from the first year itself. For general/obc candidates, we have a tough competition to secure that scholarship. Mcm is famous among those scholarships. They pay us around 80-90% of the fee if we secure it. For sc/st, the fee itself is 1/5 of the original fee, even they get a full refund if they secure that sc/st scholarship.

Placement Experience

4

Not matter the branch. If you are good enough with your coding skills, you are definitely placed with an excellent package. Core companies have to visit more to hunt the talent in the india's technically strong college's. We get 80-90% of software companies during the placements.

College Events

5

They were different clubs which were pretty much organised and settled. They organise different kind of workshops inviting a full industries or taking help of sponsors. We celebrate each and every indian festival in our hostels by organising some events. The most famous events of our college life are our cultural festival and the technical. Alcheringa and Techniche.

Fee Structure And Facilities

When i passed out, we had to pay around 50k to 60k per semester. For a lower middle class, it might be little difficult, but with the scholarships/loans an options it not that burden though. For the facilities they provide, the fee is too less. I heard they had increased the fee structure in IIT's. So no idea how it is now.

Fees and Financial Aid

I haven't availed any. But i have my friends who availed those scholarships and loans. One of my good friend availed sbi loan, and i have few friends who availed MCM scholarship.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is the best. They invest around 2 cr per annum to maintain the campus. You can just a walk whenever you are feeling low/bad. Male student domination is more. We have a kind of 10:1 gender for the male to female. Coming to extracurriculars, we have different kind of clubs, sports activities, labs, computer center, library. They have left no page unturned.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel facilities are pretty good with single rooms per student, cricket ground, football ground, volleyball ground, table tennis room, library, music room, canteen, juice shops, stationary. We get each and every thing in our college itself. No need to travel far. The mess food is below par i would say. Sometimes they don't maintain that minimum quality too.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes they are. You infact need their help on how to prepare for exams, placements, interviews. They are always there to help.

Exam Structure

They conduct two quizzes carrying 10 marks each. And mid semester exam which values 30-40 marks. And a final semester exam of 40-50 marks. With that total of 100, they give the grades relatively on a scale of 10. The least grade they offer is a 4 out of 10.

Admission

Yes, after selecting our prefference branch/college list. We had 3 counselling sessions where they would reveal our attained college. In the first counselling i got b.tech civil in iit madras, same in the second, in the third it was b.tech mechanical in iit guwahati which ended with my rank in open category. After that i went to iit kharagpur for registration. Confirmed the admission into iit guwahati by submitting a few documents.

Faculty

4

They are pretty much chilled up and open minded. They have excellent facilities for their families. They just have a travel around a km for classrooms from their quarters. They dont even have to carry any kind of notes.they just carry a pen drive and project the slides in our classrooms using a projector. They are strict during exams. They just give you marks only if both the method and final answer are correct.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute. The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.

Many big tech companies visit during placement for full time and internship. Core companies also visits for different roles. During our placement season it happens generally after 7th semester. Generally criteria for sitting in any company varies based on cgpa and sometimes 10th and 12th marks depends on company to company generally it is 6 or 7 or 8 cgpa.
