What Students Say
Likes
- Our campus is really beautiful and its like filled with greenery all around. Now they even have their their own lotus pond and it adds to the beauty of it.Then apart from this , we have like three canteens and a medical emergency center.
- Our campus has multiple libraries which facilitates for 6-7 institutes in the same campus and the good part is you can have access to all the books in all these libraries even if you dont belong to that institute.
- Nirma has its own charm in Ahmedabad and Gujarat, people really do appreciate you if you state that you are from Nirma especially Nirma Law and Management is quite famous.
Dislikes
- So basically as I mentioned earlier there is a lot of greenery due to which dengue is quite common during the rainy season
- There is often water logging in rainy season
- Now they are on a plan of cutting trees in the campus and making it a concrete jungle.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum in comparison to other NLUs and other private colleges is quite good actually. Some of these law schools are learning CPC, Crpc And IPC in their penultimate or final years. However, we had a chance to learn these in our 2-3 rd year itself. Though I am not quite satisfied with the exam pattern, we often don't have gaps and our exams go on continuously for 5-6 days with no breaks and that exhausts you on another level.
Internships Opportunities
Our college doesnt provide with internship opportunities at large. Sometimes they do roll out a mail seeking for internships but it happens rarely. We find internships through our connections and by applying on our own. Based on a good GPA and a decent CV you can get an internship easily.
Placement Experience
Mostly students bag placements on their own and do not depend on the college to get placements. however, if you have a good CV then your chances of bagging a placement from college is high and mostly students from 4th year become eligible for placements. My plans after getting the degree is to go into Judiciary and therefore I am not quite aware about the placement and other related aspects.
Fees and Financial Aid
So we have semester wise fees. In law, we have 10 semesters and the fees has to be paid in the month of June and January. Our odd semesters are from August to Dec and even from Feb to May and we get three months internship break( Jan,June and July) Scholarship is basically two fold- One is merit cum means which is based on CLAT score and the income of the family must be less than 7 lakhs p.a. then they will be eligible for 100% 75% and 50% scholarship brackets While Merit based scholarship is only based on CLAT rankings. No such application has to be filed for the same aa far as I am aware of, at the time of admission a mail regarding scholarship would be sent to those who are eligible for the same.
Campus Life
Nirma as a whole provides you with a lot of opportunities as it is an amalgamation of 6-7 institutes so you would have one or the other concert going on every other week in the campus. We have our own fests too and they are pretty decent as well. There are multiple clubs, committes,NCC,NSS present i our college. Some of them are academuc oriented while others are just for recreation and they have their events frequently as well. We have tonnes of e resources as well as library books so that is never an issue for students. However, we still dont have access to Turnitin.
Admission
My CLAT rank was under 2000 so it was a hassle free process for me to get into Nirma. My friends who had a rank around 4000-5000 were also able to get in but they had no option but to get BCOM LLB course. Nirma accepts CLAT scores and does not conduct an exam of its own so the process is easy. The application process is hassle free as well and the admission form charges are minimal. Once you get your CLAT score , nirma also releases a list based on the number of students that applied and then it informs you via mail if you have been selected or not for the same.
Faculty
I am from the Institute of Law and here almost every faculty is a Doctorate. However, them being a doctore doesnt mean they know how to teach, its pretty subjective according to me.Personally, I feel younger faculty members have a grasp over their concepts and they have the ability to explain effectively to students.
