College of Veterinary Science in a glance

We have both theory and practical classes in equal proportions so the aspects of application of the theory knowledge in practical animals or practical lives are met accordingly. Our exams are conducted in a highly efficient manner and a huge number of exams are conducted regularly, there is no chance of passing the session without studying.

The college provides internships of their own in clinics, state zoo, government breeding centres,gausalas, veterinary hospital in our native district etc for a tenure of 3months each to a total of 12months. A stipend of 15000 per month is provided to the students.

The top ten students of every batch from the state are provided 18000/year scholarship by the university or college. The students can also apply for other scholarships of state or central according to their eligibility. The admission fee and hostel fee are affordable

The college is mostly academic oriented and the course is really tough and lengthy tbh so the college authorities don't appreciates much of extra co-curricular activities on their own. The college conducts freshers, farewell, college -week and some official ceremonies. Since it's in Guwahati, we can enjoy concerts, fests of other colleges and clubs.

Hostel facilities are great here and the hostel fee is very less.Hostel fee doesn't includes mess fee which we need to pay every month.The rooms are spacious and it si provided with the basic furnitures such as bed,table-chair, almira etc.For UG students, each rooms are shared by two students .

The university conducts a common entrance test after out 12th board exams almost few days near to the NEET exam of 200 marks with 50 marks for zoology, botany, physics, and chemistry where 1 mark is allowed for a correct answer and -0.25 for a wrong answer. After the results and merit list are declared, counseling is done accordingly and students choose their colleges according to their interests and eligibility.

The professors out here are highly qualified in terms of their own qualifications.our course is highly practical based so the professors put their best efforts to meet the expected level. The new generation professors are very interective, supportive and the provide with great quality of education compared to some(very few) old professors who just read out the notes or slides and leave the class.
