Likes
- Its infrastructure is going better day by day as it should be. The best thing about the campus is, It is situated at the best place as it could.
- Professors are highly educated and now in electrical department we have 2 section of each batch by which teacher to the students ratio increased.
- It has all the facilities a student will need in the campus like wifi ,Student Activity center where we can play games and enjoy our hobbies
Dislikes
- Nearly all are 3 seater room but they made it four now we have to suffer with congested space. And in KBH and NBH there are only two fans for four students
- There is shortage of water supply in summer. Even for basic need we had to suffer a lot
- There is a slow wifi in hostel calls jio net. Its give us only 1 gb a day after login with a no. But sometime it also don't work but now new wifi are installed they will make it run after few months lets see
Course Curriculum Overview
For me good branch of core after tech like CS in EE. In this branch if you are intersted in tech you can give interview in tech companies or if you are intersted in core you can go for EE in both govt and private sector. As EV era is coming for cars it will also boost jobs opportunity
Internships Opportunities
This college also provides internship whether its paid or free. But most of students go by there self. There are companies like infosys microsoft and many more big and small company but you have to prove them you are best for doing there work . And all have to make a project in final year
Placement Experience
From starting of 7th semester there are lot of companies visit collage to give placement. They will make a certain criteria like CGPA to shortlist the student. Then they will sit in the placement round. When I came in this college I heard that someone with chemical branch got heighest package around 52 lakh domestic.
Fees and Financial Aid
For my batch fee for income above 8 lakh is 76k per sem and for between 1 - 5 lakh is 1/3 of 76K and for less then 1 lakh income it is arround 14k. But after by batch there is little bit increment in fees structure Hostel fee for even sem is 30k and for odd 40k
Campus Life
The best thing about this college is it is culture rich. It has different club like GDSC, Music club, Dance Club, Nati club and many many more. Even there are societies of different. Most popular festival of NIT Hamirpur are HILL fair and NIMBUS. And also other festival like Holli Diwali and Prom night etc. I am sure this NIT will give you a good campus life and you will only left with its memory. And the importent thing is you can join club in 1st and some of also joins in 2nd year
Hostel Facilities
The facilities of hostel depends on different hostels like some are old having old infrastructure. There are different hostel for different year. Like Kailash boys hostel for 1st year boys and ambika for 1st year girl. All student form a hostel secretary and he will make menu and it will include breakfast lunch snacks and dinner.
Admission
As it is a NIT admission here is only through JEE Main. If you get good enough rank you can choose course according to your interst. You have to fill up counselling in josaa and csab in correct order. Affter that if you got a seat you have to give a partial fees according to your category. And about seat reservation in this nit is as others but HP state students will get state quota
Faculty
All Professors are well qualified and have PHD degree is there subjects. Maximum teacher gives efforts on teaching very well. But while checking the answer sheet some gives tough marking then others and there is also attendance crieteria somehow also depends on teachers
