Likes

The area of the campus is big. There is a lot of greenery in the campus. The campus is very well arranged in 260 acres. The security staff is very good. There is a lack of shopping malls and everything else in the campus.
The average package here is around 6-7 lakhs. The package is a little less but the growth is quite good
The teachers are very good. The classes are proper. The teachers are very friendly.

Dislikes

The average package is very low. Percentage placed is very low
The lab teacher is very strict. The rules are very strict
There is a lot of sunshine in the campus. Veg food is not very good.

Course Curriculum Overview

Electrical is core branch. Its syllabus is more in comparison to other branches . And the teacher's teaching methods are very good. Due to which it becomes a little easier. Electrical engineering ka future me bahut scope hai in semiconductor field

There is a tusc cell for internship details and internship updates are available on many WhatsApp groups and internship details are also available on the main WhatsApp group of engineering schools. And internship programs keep running in the university

Placement Experience

To be honest placement here can be a little disappointing however it is getting better days by days. The major hindrance is the location factor but th Tnp cell work very hard to bring companies and to provide students with equal opportunity. CSE has an average placement followed by ECE . In core branch most of the people go for exam like GATE, ESE or State PSUs exam or any higher study however some people also get placed on campus in PSI like olu , electricity boards and all

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee of btech is around 27000 per semester apart from that each hostel has message fees which is charged monthly and it varies from hostel to hostel. One can complete their B.tech under 4 lakh which is the best part of doing B.Tech from here

Campus Life

Currently im studying in btech second year as a electrical engineering. My overall experience is Festivals start happening here from the beginning, then in the second semester there is a farewell party. Cultural programs, all these happen a lot here.

Admission

The school of engineering mainly has 6 branches offering both btech and M.Tech, as well as PhD admitted in one of the btech one need to appear in jee Main. 60 % seat of seats in all programs is reserved for North students, and other seats are for other state students. These seat filled through josaa and csab and cuet the institute don't have special girl quota. So sometimes gender ratio become to low

Faculty

Teaching staff are highly educated or experienced. The mentorship of the teacher is very good. The teacher's approach to the students is very good. The interaction with the teacher is very good. The teacher is friendly

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible to participate for Internship placements from 3rd year and FTE offer from 4th year starting. Overall the placements scenarios are pretty good considering it to be a NIT. The overall highest package goes to around 80 lac plus and the average package lies around 18 to 20 lac for CSE Department. The opportunities are great with companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Nvidia coming for on campus opportunities providing agreat experience

Many companies visited our campus for placement..Top IT Companies that visited our campus is Samsung, Nvidia, Oracle , SAP Lab , Cisco etc Psu also visited for placement... Which includes BPCL, OIL India Limited,EIL, MECON, BEL, HPCL.. etc .. Top core company also visited here ... Which includes vedanta , jsw , Tata Power, Honda etc . Highest package is 82 lpa which is given by atlassian. Average is 6 lpa I am working in infratech company

Let's have a look what is going on inside NIT Silchar

Placement Experience:

From 5th sem students are allowed to participate in oncampus summar internship and from. 7th semester starting they are allowed for 6 month internship and Full time roles . There is a Training and placement Cell in our college there are some heads of this cell they are senior professors and it have final year students in senior coordinator position and 3 rd year study as probationary. Students bring the companies which fulfills the criteria of TNP cell and each company have their own eligibility criteria and selection procedure. Mostly companies allows 6 cgpa without any active backlog students . But some high paying companies requires 7 or more cgpa . In 3rd year Cisco , microsoft, public sapiens, Tech Mahindra, Accenture ,Oracle and many more companies visited in our campus and hired good amounts of students for summer internship and mostly offers full time role as ppo to students. In 4th year a lots of company like Novartis, amazon, flipkart,aditya birla, Cisco , Deloitte, oracle,ukg, Motorola, siemens , IBM and many more startups visited college and hired .Some paid 15+ CTC and some 6 to 10 CTC . Almost 40% of students are placed till December this year from each branch . Personally I'm planning for taking chances to get an online internship and then try to go for higher studies abroad in automation and robotics.

NIT Silchar Review: Campus, Career and Career Prospects

Placement Experience:

NIT Silchar has decent placement stat. Approx 75 percent student got placement from campus and they got decent package. In NIT Silchar from 7th semester students are eligible for placement and company comes whole year for recruiting. Approx 100 company visit the college throughout the year. In tech Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Walmart and more companies come. For core L&T, Adani, Tata Steel and more companies come. For service base Infosys, TCS, Wipro will come and give good offer. Highest package will come from tech company and that is 52lpa and average from all companies will lie from 10 to 12 lpa . My plans is that in my 4th year atleast I will get one job. If I don't get job then I will try from off campus or giving paper for government job

Great college with decent infrastructure and a large campus

Placement Experience:

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute.The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.

Not good at all placements. Worst placement college that is ever been. They couldn't get companies coming to this college after such long times. The only companies which comes gives packeges as low as 200000 per annum. which is worst in these present times.

A brief description about Tezpur University

As I had applied in Dibrugarh university also for the same course and I got there but I choosed Tezpur university rather than Dibrugarh university as because the reputation of both the universities are best in there own but TU is a central university and DU is a state university, so there will be much more opportunities and advancement in a central university then a state university and all the family members and others suggested me to take admission here...as Tezpur university is more famous and known by everyone then dibrugarh university. To take admission here and get enrolled in my course (MCA), we have to give an entrance exam which is called "TUEE" by qualifying this exam one can get admission here from any background in bachelor as because there are two MCA courses available here, one is breached and other is non-breached. Breached course is for people with other background in bachelors which is for 3years and Non-breached courses is for people with background in computer science in bachelors which is for 2years. The cutoff changes every year according. One can also get enrolled here in other courses and departments by qualifying exams like CUET, JEE, CAT, MAT etc... This is a central university. And in northeast tezpur university is one of the best tu pursue MCA .fee structure here is also very less as compare to other universities. To get enrol or take admission one have to give tuee exam .then merit list will be released accordingly...Read More

Admission process is easy as you get admission on the basis of jee mains result.
