Course Curriculum Overview

4

I would rate the course curriculum highly in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness. It is well-structured, covering both foundational and advanced topics that are pertinent to current industry standards and future trends. The curriculum ensures that students gain a thorough understanding of their field, preparing them effectively for their careers.

Internships Opportunities

3

Most of the companies that visit for placements are web development-based. They come from various locations, including Chandigarh, Dharamshala, and Bengaluru. This provides a diverse range of opportunities for students interested in web development careers.

Placement Experience

4

My college under hptu university was new and my batch was first batch so there are not much placements There are not many placement opportunities, but 3-4 companies visit for placements. Their packages range from approximately 1.5 lakh to 2.5 lakh annually, providing some options for graduates.

Fees and Financial Aid

My total per semester fees were 31,000. I haven't applied for any scholarships. There are no campus employment opportunities. However, the educational trips organized by my college were free of cost, with all fees paid by the government.

Campus Life

4

Overall, campus life has been great. Socially, there are limited clubs, but events still encourage interaction. The infrastructure is modern, with well-equipped classrooms, labs, a stocked library, and comfortable accommodations.

Admission

There are two entrance exams: one is through the HPTU exam, and the other is through JEE Main. For JEE Main, you need a CGPA of above 8.0, and for the HPTU exam, you need above 50%, which is for the general category.

Faculty

5

The faculty at our college is exceptional. They are not only incredibly friendly and approachable but also possess extensive knowledge about their respective subjects. Their dedication to teaching and mentoring students is truly commendable, creating a supportive and enriching learning environment

The campus placement of IIIT UNA is good. The highest package of 2023 in IIIT Una was 60 lpa(off campus) and 45 lpa (on campus) . The average pakage was 15 lpa , and around 90 % of the student got placed, during the placement drive. The average pakage of IT department was 16 lpa. A full semester is dedicated for internship and to earn work experience. Many companies like Google, Facebook, nvidia,Amazon etc appeared into placement drive.I am also targeting such FANG companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

### **Rating the Course Curriculum at HIET Shahpur** The course curriculum at **Himachal Institute of Engineering and Technology (HIET), Shahpur**, aligns with the guidelines set by **Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU)**. While it provides a solid foundation in engineering concepts, there are notable gaps in terms of modern relevance and industry readiness. --- ### **1. Relevance and Comprehensiveness** #### **Positives**: - **Foundational Knowledge**: The curriculum emphasizes core engineering principles and technical subjects. It provides a good theoretical grounding, particularly in traditional branches like Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering. - **Breadth of Topics**: Subjects like Mathematics, Physics, and core engineering courses ensure a strong base for students, making it suitable for those aiming to pursue higher studies or competitive exams. - **Structured Progression**: The curriculum follows a logical flow from basic concepts in the first year to specialized topics in later semesters, ensuring students grasp fundamental knowledge before diving into advanced topics. #### **Negatives**: - **Outdated Content**: The curriculum lacks integration of modern, high-demand fields like Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cloud Computing, and IoT, which are now essential in engineering education. - **Limited Practical Exposure**: While labs are part of the curriculum, the equipment is often outdated, and the focus is more on theory than hands-on learning or real-world problem-solving. - **Elective Choices**: The range of elective subjects is limited, which restricts students' ability to explore interdisciplinary interests or niche areas within their field. --- ### **2. Influence on Decision to Join the Course** The choice of this course is often influenced by: - **Affordability**: The fee structure is economical compared to private institutions in metropolitan areas. - **Core Engineering Focus**: Many students choose HIET Shahpur becau
