What Students Say
Likes
- We get a broader sense of society for instance there are students from every economic background and every financial condition.
- The fees is very affordable as it is a government college.
- The professors are well qualified and very well read most of the time
Dislikes
- The facilities in some DU colleges are not very good, the campus and buildings are in a very bad condition.
- The administrative faculty doesn't respond well to queries and don't work on your problems most of the time they're very rude and very difficult to deal with.
- The career counselling lectures are actually very weird they don't tell you anything and don't provide the insight to different field of work students often get more confused after attending those lectures.
Course Curriculum Overview
I think the education system provides an ample time for a course to get completed. Which some times feel and bit too much same happened with me I felt that 3 years for my course was too much which is why I started to do a lot of other things. And rest about teaching of the course my college teaching faculty should focus on telling what the syllabus really focuses on rather than beating around the bush and should accept the fact that they also can be wrong sometimes.
Fees and Financial Aid
So the tuition fee is very affordable and it doesn't hike regularly. It is a government college so the fees is actually 8000-9000 for my course and no other charges. I don't have much idea about scholarship or financial aid.
Campus Life
I don't really participate in college activities but the events and festivals are very important in our university and students look forward to woth seriousness and excitement. The libraries have a huge number of books and journals for every genre and subject. There are a few computer systems in the college but nothing else other than that. I have taken part in sports so I can provide a bit insight into it so the sports are taken rather seriously and every sports has a different coach, there is a gym in college too and big grounds and fields for different sports. There are ngos and different clubs which are run by students and students also take part in student politics.
Admission
I took the cuet exam in 2022 and there are a lot of colleges which offer their courses through cuet with different cut-offs. And in Delhi University too there are more than hundred colleges which have different cut-offs. You should also pass your board exams of 12 class and should score above a certain percentage or cgpa as different universities have a criteria based on board exams too. The difficulty level of cuet exams are quite moderate if you study well you score well. I think the exams should be a bit more difficult for the students who really worked hard to achieve the best colleges they can get in.
Faculty
The teaching faculty is well qualified and some of the professors really do focus on teaching and interactive learning but most of the time they don't really care and don't take lectures. Once one of my professor didn't take more than a few lectures in a semester. But there are a few professors who really focus on teaching and getting the work through.
