What Students Say

Likes

The campus which included facilities like library , canteen and labs.
There is annual sports festival and fest.
There are some faculty who actually try to teach.

Dislikes

There placement is biased they provide good opportunities to selected students like in my batch intern + ppo was provided to 3 students by tpo and rest students were not even given a chance to apply for it.
Placement cordinator and tpo does not chech mail which led to not informing students about interviewslots leading to company not taking interview of those candidates.
They try to steal acheivements of there ex students by displaying there current company and off campus companies also in placement poster but those companies NEVER visited campus.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum taught is outdated and not according to industrial expectations. The curriculum does not prepare you for real world applications in any way. The improvement I would suggest is providing real life projects as in internship for bridging gap between expectation and reality. There were 2 IA and 1 semester examination along with 1 practical and viva examination per semester.

Placement Experience

The campus placement happen in 4th year and as not many companies visit campus it runs throughout year because the companies who visit campus take recruitment as per there convienance. The campanies that visit campus are Neebal , and other local companies with low package. The highest package was 10 lpa for which was intern + ppo a for which only tpo favourite 3 students got chance rest were not informed or allowed for this opprotunity. The average package id 3lpa. Only 30-40 perecnt students were placed and most were placed in non tech/engineering roles.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fess were almost consistent throghout all 4 years of education. The complete cost per year for fees was around 120000 rupees. The scholarship is only provided to reserved category students and there is no merit based scholarship of any kind. There are no campus employment opportunities.

Campus Life

There is zeal the anual college fest and avaahan the annual sports fest. The books in library are mostly related to engineering and only reference books mentioned by university curriculum are available. The classroom has projector so faculty can just read ppt from it. Only sports activity is anual sports fest and extracurricular activities are non existant. There are some student run groups like solecthon , emechto , ethan ,etc which actually do some work whose credit is taken by college.

Admission

The admission were based on jee mains or mht-cet score. The applications were of both type offline of institution level seats before opening of centralized admission on CAP portal. If you are from any reserved category the cut off does not matter fo any engineering college the country itself is baised against general category.

Faculty

There are faculty members who are qualified and know how to teach but there are also some who dont have domain knowledge of there respective subject and are not qualified enough. Teacher to student ratio is 1:70 and in some classes 1:180 so dont expect any help.

Placement Experience:

College offers campus placement on an average of 5 to 6 lakh per year. Not so good. Companies like MI Tech solution,Q-spider,Latent and many more have comed for placement.Had to try for off campus for better offer.This companies before my admission .I think in future companies with high package will come. Students can seat in campus placement from 5th to 6th semester.

College placements are very good and have a more than 70% placement rate. Many top company like tcs, infosys, capgemini, wipro, jsw, and many more come to give placemnts to students. College also supports startup and fund them.

REAL INSIGHTS OF RIZVI COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING

Course Curriculum Overview:

As this college is under mumbai university so this college cannot modify syallbus in their own the have to strictly follow the university prescribe syallbus,academic timelines,rules and norms of the mumbai university. I have taken the admission in this college in the year 2024 from this year the NEP-2020 was adopted by the every indian universities and instituites. Since NEP-2020 was adopted also by mumbai university some new subjects are added to the syallabus that are oriented to financial literacy,Entreprenuianl,indian laws related subjects the syallubus of this subject is very good to see in the syallabus pdf. But the ground reality is different this subject is not given much importance by faculties the are treated as not much important subject as their are not related to our course as a result the students also take these subjects lightly.Also the professors appointed for this subjects are not much good they appoint the faculties who are recent graduates of their college who are working now as a professor in the same college. The college treat this subject lectures as an practice for the fresh faculties to gain experience of how to teach students. The core subject syallbus is same not changed the mumbai university has just changed the name of the subject. The college professors just teach the subject but they do not teach in that way that it makes us ready for real world problems.And also in the first year all the subjects are common for all the branches of the engineering which consist of subject like physics,chemistry,mechanics,Basic electrical Electronics,Engineering Graphics. It is my opinion why should an student who is studying an course called Computer Engineering so why should i read the subjects of the other branches like civil,mechanical,electrical and electronics in my first year instead of my domain subjects for whole two semester and the timespan of almost an year

Placement Experience:

from 6th semester students get eligible for placemnets and from 4th semester students get eligible for internships. Dell, Oracle Tcs and many more such companies have visited the college The highest package is 50 lpa for MCA in computer science while the highest for B.TECH CSE is 44.14 lpa. Many good companies such as J.P. Morgan and Goldmann sachs have also come here for placements. The average package is 6lpa. Approximately from Computer science across 70 to 80 percent students are getting placed every year. After my B.tech Degree I would be pursuing my Masters degree from abroad.

Should I go for VCET ??!!

I stay in goregaon and for me travelling in the reverse direction is easier than travelling to other colleges. The timing of the trains and the crowd is also pretty managable. I did apply for various college. KJ Somaiya and Xaviers are the college were I was accepted but according to my comfort I chose this college. As the Fees is also reasonable and the traveling time is also saved, So for me it was a the comfort zone I'd say. And other college I was rejected due to the score was not compitent as they needed it. It takes admission on the basis of CET JEE so the admission process is almost online they do have their institute round on their website for which the result is also given on the website itself....Read More
