- As i was in the political science student, my department of political science was so good. The faculty members, the way they teach was wonderful. They held our classes regularly and took tests monthly. They even took us to the indian parliament house
- And president house. The college canteen was also very good. They served the food with sanity and it was worth it. The priced were also very convenient for everyone (it wasn't expensive at all). The football ground is also very good as i used to play
- There. All the sports equipments were there in the sportsroom. My college also had one common room for girls which was very clean and all the girls washroom were clean and sanity was maintained all around there.
Dislikes
- Some classes did not have ac in them which made it hot sometimes. Only one jublee block was there in my college which have ac classrooms. The auditorium of my college was very small so it was hard to arrange a big seminar in that as the screen was
- Small too. The basketball court was not repaired and the changing room was not available in the sports block of my college. At times of fest there was the problem of sanitation a little bit also. Some student protests also used to happen very often.
- One block of my college was madeup of teen sheds which used to get severly hot during summers and very cold during winters so that block i always hated. Overall it was a good college with some shortcomings
Course Curriculum Overview
My course was good for me as I'm preparing for the upsc civil service examination so political science helped me a lot in my optional subject. Through my curriculum I got to know many theories and approaches that we can see in our daily lives and as I just said I want to go into bureaucracy so it is helpful for me. There is no improvement needed as such because my professors were actually so good. We used to have monthly tests for our internal and semester examinations which were on average neither easy nor difficult.
Fees and Financial Aid
There were not such hikes as my college was a government college of central government. The fee was around 7,500 per annum. The total cost was around 30,000. The reservation category students were to give less fees obviously.
Campus Life
We used to have a departmental fest of 3 days and many college societies have their own fests and a major college fest used to be there for 2 days which included a concert of any high-profile singer. The library was huge as my college library had the most number of books from any of the DU colleges. It was a full-ac library. Classrooms were good but technology was not there as such. Only projectors were there. Sports blocks was good all the facilities were there and the football ground was so good There were many college societies like photography, dance, music, nss, ncc etc. College societies of du is good we all know that
Admission
The cut-off for admission was 93% in class 12th from any recognized board for general category students. The application form was there in the official website of Delhi university. It was a very smooth process so no problem was faced by me.
Faculty
The faculty of my department i.e. political science, was very good. Our class consisted of around 60 students but only 25 to 30 used to come regularly. My learning experience was so good as the teachers were very friendly. The faculty consisted of phd holder professors who were very experienced and good. They used to take classes 5 days a week and even took us Indian parliament for the Lok Sabha budget session. The teachers were regular and used to interact very nicely. We all had their contacts so we could contact them anytime.
