The reality of Delhi University

Psychology has always been an interesting field for me. I also had it in my 11th and 12th standards because the study of mind and how humans behave and interact in particular situations really seems complex yet fun to study. Ive also been a fan of how people perceive and react to different surroundings and so i wanted to learn more about it. My curriculum includes Psychology as well as advertising. In both of those, interviews and people interaction play a major part which helps us to deal with and understand the world around us. According to me, improvements can be made in accordance with field trips i.e. in psychology, they can take us to psychological clinics or hospitals that might help us get a clearer view on our curriculum and understanding. The exams are meant for once at the end of semester and i think that's pretty good as they're on a moderate level too.

My tution fee is basically around 16-17k for the whole year and i think thats a very very reasonable amount. Even for a course like b tech, you have to pay in lakhs annually which might not be easy for a middle class household but delhi universities are government based and i enjoy the fact that they are accessible to all people around. Im not sure if there are any scholarships available in our colleges because as i said the fees is already comparatively low, there is no margin for some extra discount or anything.

The campus i am in is constantly holding a lot of campaigns and functions. They all are basically based on different ideas such as sport games or psychological workshops which include fun games, food, stalls, etc. They are fun events to take part in which are completely free without any entry ticket. Apart from that, events like freshers and farewells also take place once an year. There are a variety of sports offered in my campus such as cricket, gym, volleyball and many more. A lot of inter college competitions are also held. The north campus is full of clubs and cafes for students to visit and it makes them more independent and makes their college life more interactive.

The course eligibility required scoring decent marks in CUET i.e. common university education test. I scored about 660 out of 800 and got into a good college in north campus and that seems to be an average layout. The application form is available on the nta website. The fees wasnt high, it was around 1700 for 5 subjects. It depends on the subject you choose to take but it's no more than 2.2k. The exam is basically based of NCERT of 12th standard which we've studied for a whole year so it's not much difficult to score good in them

The faculty is rather fun. I mean there are different type of teachers with different teaching styles. But mostly the main thing is that they're all full of patience and they never ever scold you for asking a question which wasn't the way in my school, so i enjoy that. Im not sure about the ratio but every 50 students have one teacher i think and that's a bit too much. It's difficult for one teacher to focus on so many students but yeah if you ask a doubt they all surely answer. So i think they are very approachable and they take care of our needs and wishes irrespective of when and where we approach them. Most of the teachers are graduates and some are even PHD holders which sounds like they're pretty knowledgeable.
