Course Curriculum Overview

4

I am a student of History Hons . My faculty is very well educated and all of them holds a phD degree from renowned colleges of all over world. My intrest in history compelled me to chose this course for me secondly faculty helps in enhancing knowledge and skills. Curriculum not only tries to give us theoretical knowledge but also practical knowledge though field visits. Exams are held twice a year that is 2 semester's per year. The are quite moderate but the marking is strict.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

My course being History Honors we don't get internships instead we indulge into reserch projects and presentations. Paper presentation opportunities are provided to every students . They are free to consult teachers and are free to use the books of library.

Placement Experience

2

Placements depends upon the course. Practical subjects like bcom , bca and computer science students get good placement. But humanities students they are not placed as they aspire either for PhD or for government exams either at state or central level. My course is history honors which absolutly receive no placements. My plan after getting degree is to directly persue PhD.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition free for my 1year was 12700 but in second year it received a hike of 1000 rupees. The complete cost of education for my course will be less then 80,000. Scholarships are provided for the students with EWS or SC/ST/OBS certificate . They either has to pay no fee or half fee according to the conditions. My college don't provide placements of courses like history' Hons or Hindi Hons or Pol sci Honours but surely for bcom or computer science

Campus Life

4

Our college Ram Lal Anand College or any college of DU has fest once a year form 2-3 days filled with fun in the month of march-May. This month is fest season for whole DU. Students are allowed to go to all the colleges for which with their college Icard. Library of all DU college are very huge and informative . We get all course books in library itself. No need to buy. Smart classes are installed in some of the classes. Sports trails are conducted each year and there is fair selection and opportunities.

Admission

For all students to take admission in Delhi University needs to clear the cut off of CUET exam. Earlier the admission were taken on basis of class 12th percentage but the process changed in 2022 and new exam CUET common university entrance test was introduced by NTA. All the notification are provided on official DU website we need to fill the form then cuet conduct this exam from whole of a month due to students strength. And next month comes the result and counselling and allotment process begins. Cuet exam was quite easy but everyone's score decreased with normalisations. My score was 637/800 (general category)and I got south campus. The cut off for North campus we 700+.

Faculty

4

Delhi University professors are very well educated most of them hold a degree in PHD from renowned Universities like JNU. They are highly educated and are able to impart quality education to students. In my class there are 85 students Which is a justified number. Our college also organises mentor mentee programs. 10-20 students are assigned one teacher that guides student throughout college year with further guidence . Teachers are very interractive and accountable. College even assigned a councellor which whom students can discuss both there personal and professional problems. Overall faculty is kind and responsive.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
