Course Curriculum Overview
For BMS, we had 10 subjects in each semester due to NEP. The diverse topics tought helps in holistic development of students. Assignments given to students are exceptionally good. We enjoy preparing models, reports, etc. that help us in bridging gap between academics and practical aspects. Since ours was the first year of NEP implementation, both teachers and students had to learn a lot and progress. These issues will be resolved in future due to better understanding of NEP curriculum. Degree students have 3 internals for majors from which best of 2 marks are considered. For other subjects there are 2 internals with average marks of both exams taken into account and at last we have sem end exams.
Internships Opportunities
Training and Placement cell of our college assists students in getting internships with varying stipend provided by different companies. Students are greatly benefitted from this. Last year several students got Summer Internship in Morgan Stanley with the help of Training and Placement cell.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placements in 6th semester. As per 2023 report more than 35 companies visited and around 150 students got olaced. Highest package was 14.10 lacs p.a. offered by Axxela Financial Services. Futures First offered package of 12.88 lacs p.a. Average salary offered was 6 lacs p.a.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees for various courses range from Rs. 11,000 to Rs. 1,00,000 or more. Most of courses have annual fees of Rs. 50,000. Various government aided scholarships that can be availed are informed to students so that they can benefit from them.
Campus Life
There are several committees of students focusing on Entrepreneurship, Wildlife, Social Service, etc. Our college's youth festival 'Umang' is one the Asia's fastest growing youth festival. Our library is well-equipped. We have access to various online resources as well as paperback books available in our library. Gymkhana of our college is also functional. Students do participate in various sports competitions.
Admission
Admission for BCom and other self-financed courses are done on the basis of class 12th score of students. Only for BMS students have to give CET exam. This was for academic year 2024-25. The process might change later on. All the admission related information is available on college's official website. The CET exam is conducted once a year.
Faculty
In my opinion, all the teachers of my college are highly qualified. There are sufficient number of teachers for all the students. However qualification does not always mean that the teacher can teach well. Teaching is a skill not everyone can master by earning degrees. Few of our teachers have abundance of knowledge but then they sometimes fail to share that knowledge with students effectively.
