Likes
- The fellow mates whom i met till date in my colege all are well taught and mannered.
- The administration is quite helping and considers the problems of students as it comes to their knowledge.
- It has the most beautiful campus in the north india in about an area of 320 acres.
Dislikes
- Some of the professors might be seen a bit partial to a particular student or a group.
- The hostels are a bit old school type, so there are frequent water shortage conditions.
Course Curriculum Overview
Firstly the curriculum taught is a bit older, in comparision to the modern technologies. There is a lack of practical knowledge inside the students. The management should opt some of the advanced subjects in their curriculum so as to make learning interesting and easier.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are provided at the 3 year of the college. For the technical branches like computer science engineering there are a lot of companies like google, oracle, Microsoft which hire the students at the college level. But for the branches like mechanical, electrical, civil there are less opportunities available.
Placement Experience
The placement drive begins from the beginning of 7th semester for the four year bachelor's programs. The average package offered in my stream .i.e. Mechanical engineering is about 8-9 lakhs per year. The placements depend upon the students knowledge and grades. And the placement percentage of college is above 75%.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees structure is a bit unfair type, as the students studying in the same class have a high difference in their fees. For those with a good family background would have to pay aroun 9 lakhs for their full bachelor's degree, while the others would get it for 4 lakhs only. Scholarships are also available, but only for SC, ST, those with a family income less than 1 lakh. Which again seems to be a bit biased as all the Scholarship programs are available for them only and the consession in the fees structure is also available for them only.
Campus Life
The campus is quite beautiful and peaceful. The annual cultural fest is HILLFAIR and the annual technical fest is NIMBUS, these are organized by various clubs and societies with the help of faculty members. But both the fests require a great improvement in their standards.
Hostel Facilities
There are separate hostels for boys and girls. The hostels keep on changing after every year, till the third year year we have shared 4-let or 3-let rooms, but in the final year every student is provide with separate rooms. The menu and quality of food is decided by the hostel committee which has students as its working bodies.
Admission
For a bachelor's course student must qualify the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), while for the masters programs students must qualify the GATE Examination. There is a reservation of seats for the home state students, females. The timings of exam sometimes feels a bit harsh.
Faculty
Some of the faculties are really good at their job, they use every possible method to make the students understand in the simplest and easiest way. Sometimes the process can be difficult to the students as the use of blackboard teaching is very less in the classes. Students can easily interact with the faculty members at the office times.
