Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

In the start of the course, there are some extra subjects like Punjabi and DrugAbuse which according to me is baseless as of 2024. University course curriculum should be straightaway a practical work. Curriculum includes practical components like projects, labs. This is the best approach for developing practical skills. It covers languages such as C++ and Python. It also covers core subjects such as Data Structures and Algorithms, Operating Systems, System Programming and DataBase Management Systems.

Admission

Admission of the candidate is based on his/her JEE Mains Ranks. Depending on your ranks, you can choose the field in which you want to do B.Tech. Engineering. Cut-Off for JEE Mains varies each year based on number of applicants and their scores. Reserved category students benefits from lower cut-off scores. The application form can be found on the official website of GNDU (www.gndu.ac.in) or from the university. The application fee is generally around Rs. 1000/- for general category students and Rs. 500 for category students. Applications usually open in May and gets closed by the end of june. Specific dates are announced on the university website. Sometimes notifications regarding important dates and processes are released late which should be improved. A step-by-step guide would help applicants a lot.

Faculty

4

Mostly teachers teach through the ppt and notes provided by them which is not much good and not too bad also according to my experience. It depends on you whether your mind is in class or not. Teachers are very interactive and they encourage the students and engage them with clearing their doubts. Faculty members have much professional experience in their fields. Many of them have strong academic background related to their subject. Most of the teachers are doctorate in their respective fields.

Placement scenario is good and it is improving since then. TPO looks after this process and it is responsible to call comapnies to the college and discuss about the eligibility of the students who can appear for the placements. For internships, students in the 3rd year appear for it while for placements 4th year students can appear. The average package is approx. 8-9 LPA while the highest has gone to 64 LPA during my college duration. Almost all students get placement.

Placement Experience:

Though when I got admission in this college, I saw the placement rates were very nice, around 95%, but maybe it was our session's fault. I passed out in 2024, and in that particular year, the placements were not as expected and as seen in the previous batch, so that was something very much disappointing because I paid so much money on a degree, only everything was good about the college, but in the end, placement matters during my session. Usually, the companies that hired for example, 10 students only hired two students.

College does provide a decent number of companies to students to get placed but as per seniors Companies come with good package but students fail to grab them. Students are eligible for placement form 7th semester. As data given to us from t&p for this year currently the minimum package is 6 lpa and average is touching 8 but don't get excited it's just the starting months of placement season. My plan is to get a good college for post grad as that was my plan from the start ??
