The KGP campus is really big and beautiful.
The night life in the campus is very good
Professors are very knowledgeable and renowned with excellent research

Dislikes

Hostels rooms are relatively small for single and double sharing
The mess food is not upto the mark in most hostels
Wild animals like snakes are a common sighting

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose Instrumentation engineering keeping in mind the current state of semiconductor industry in India.I would say that the curriculum is a little backdated compared to what professionals are looking for today.To improve it,they need to include relevant elective subjects as subject choices before every semester.The frequency of exams is determined by the professor.Generally, there are two class tests and one midsemester and endsemester exams in each semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fees of 10 lacs is quite huge and most of the students cant afford it without student loan or scholarships.Our institute provides full tuition fees waiver for those students whose family income falls below 5 lacs.As per my knowledge there are no campus employment available to students which provides stipend

Campus Life

The annual fests are Kshitij (techno management fest held in January) , Spring fest (social and cultural fest held in January).The books are available to all during library hours and can be borrowed when needed.Smart classes are available in the classrooms which is very useful to teach students.Sports and extra curricular facilities are very rich in the campus with many stadiums and indoor gymnasiums. There are cells and societies of almost every tech field or extracurricular field

Admission

The eligibility of the course will be having minimum 75% in class 12 exams.The application form can be found online during the window of registration.Exams are moderate to hard,you need to study a lot to score good.The process of admission solely on the basis of JEE scores is quite old fashioned and it should also take into account some extra curricular achievements (which foreign universities do)

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio in most departments is upto the mark but in some larger departments like Electrical and Mechanical engineering,each professor has to manage a class of over 150+ students.The faculty in IIT KGP is very qualified and generally have a lot of research publications.We can interact with them freely.

ELIGIBILITY FOR CAMPUS PLACEMENT: At Brainware University students generally become eligible for campus placement from the final years of their course. For many programs placemnet preparation sactivities such as aptitude training, soft skills development, resume building, mock interviews begin earlier, you can say that these activities are incoporated from the 1st semester itself. COMAPINES VISIT: Several reowned and reputed compaines from IT, management,healthcare,media, and core sectors visits the university for campus recruitment. Placement drive include companines from domains such as software services, consulting,education,sales digital marketing etc. For my domain CSE AIML companies like Infosys,Amazon,Cognizant,Adobe etc visits. Each year multiple students receive job offers through campus drives and some students also secure multiple offers depending on their skills and performance. HIGHEST AND AVERAGE PACKAGE OFFERED: The highest package offered varies by course and recruiter and also with top performing students receive highest packages based on their role requirements and skills. It range from 12 LPA to 45 LPA. The average package offered to students is competitive for a private university and aligns with industry standards for entry level roles. These generally range from 3.5 to 8 LPA. PRECENTAGE OF STUDENTS GETTING PLACED: Placement outcome mostlky depend on academic performance, attendance, communication skills, technical knowledge, and participation in training sessions. Students who actively engage in placement preparation have better placement success. About 98% students were placed in 2023. MY PLAN AFTER GETTING THE DEGREE: After completing the degree my primary focus is to secure a jon through campus placement and gain practical knowledge. Placement was average if you have good background knowledge so you will definitely get placed. After 7th semester companies started coming and also there is different criteria for all companies like some company required more than 8 CGPA that completely dependent on company preferences. The average package is 3.5 lpa .Most of the student get hired by tcs. Placement success based on branch and skill.

Avg package is 10 lpa like . Jft and pst branch has full 100% placement. My plan after getting the degree is to be placed in top notch mnc & work as SDE.

The placement cell of my college is very strong.From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements.There are around 50 companies visited in the college such as TCS,Intel. Microsft. Deloitte,etc.205 students are placed in TCS in year 2019. 415 students are placed in campus placement last year. Maximum CTC was 25 lacs/pa and average CTC was 5.5 lacs/pa previous year.After Jadhavpur University,the average CTC of the college is higher than IEM. Above 95% placements for IT,CSE and ECE students.There are around 55-60% placements in other department.My plans are doing some great things after getting the degree.
