What Students Say
Likes
- I loved the ambience of that college. Though it doesn't have very advanced infrastructure the heredity of that prestigious institution was preserved as such from the time it was built.
- Victoria college was absolutely my home and comfort zone. Though it was a zone pf comfort and fantasy, I learned a lot of life lessons apart from the syllabus. I met different type of people and engaged in different activities.
- My teachers were also a plus. They were true guiders for me. Not only for studies, I depended them for many aspects. Truly loved 3 years of experience there!
Dislikes
- Politics was quite a thing that I disliked there.... There were competition among different parties which is quite irritating.
- Toilet facilities was also quite weak there as we have to travel a long distance for washroom. I thought it would be good to have a washroom for students in each department
Course Curriculum Overview
As I loved zoology, I've always loved each and every portions of the curriculum. Teaching methods were also effective. But the textbooks was a bit difficult for exams because it contained long paragrapgs. Mostly everyone preferred pointed notes. Our teachers did their maximum to give us better notes and loved it. Exams were also conducted as internals in a regular pattern apart the semester exams.
Fees and Financial Aid
Being a government college, the fees was of course affordable for every students. Various scholarships under the state government and central government are also provided for the students who fit the eligibility criterias. I had also relieved the e-grantzscholarship. I'm grateful that I've to pay only around 870 rupees per year for tuition. Scholarships like e-grantz, NSP, central sector scholarship, higher education scholarship of kerala, etc and so many are given to students
Campus Life
Campus life was absolutely memorable. Different events were conducted frequently. Events like club inaugrations, sports, games, NSS, NCC, food fests, film promotions were hosted. Special occasions like environment day, children's day, anti-drug day, etc were also conducted. Regional festivals like onam and occasions like Christmas , New year, etc were also celebrated all over and in each departments. Fun and interactive sessions were also conducted. College campus is always kept active by conducting any events.
Admission
The admission for various courses including zoology was through centralized admission portal. We have to submit applications with our personal details , marks and preferred colleges with preferred course. This has to done during a particular time period which will be announced by the Calicut university as this college comes under the above university. Students are taken under various reservations based on index marks. Index marks varies for different categories under reservations. Admission process was all over okay and satisfactory.
Faculty
Faculty members, both teaching and non-teaching staff of our department are absolutely wow! They are very free to us and more that merely a tutor. They always try their maximum to give us the best. Though it have the limitations of a normal government college, we have always enjoyed every thing. And also learned many things to do our own.
