Best women's college in North India

Well for me the college has been best. Campus , infrastructure and faculty here are the best.

Best college in Chandigarh that comes after main campus and government colleges regarding academics. Also, I had pursued my bachelors as well from this college so it was good for me as I knew the staff personally. Teachers are very hard working and really take efforts for students which is not much seen in other institutions.

The course structure is completely according to Panjab University. It is followed according to the instructions set by the main campus. Course structure is great as it covers all the necessary topics and prepares the students for their next competitive exams like NET as well.

No are college does not provide internships. It is a residential college and only concentrates on the academics .

Recently in bachelor's companies like Infosys and Wipro and others came to our college and many students from science were placed as well. Written tests and then interviews were held and students were further taken for jobs and to complete their mtech by the company with decent packages for beginners.

The main event or fest is the most popular fest called Meraki that takes place every year. Other than those departmental events are also organized in which students from other institutions are also invited to actively participate. Moreover festivals like Diwali , Holi, teej are celebrated with great pomp and show.

Fee structure of our college is very feasible. Be it any course , bachelors or masters the fees never goes above 30k which is very less as compared to other institutions in Chandigarh , that too when when our college is ranked best in case of academics.

I haven't availed any scholarship but it is provided on the basis of merit and means. Also if a girl is the only child then too scholarships are provided.

Our college is not only good for academics but for sports as well. Football, cricket , mountain climbing , and many other sports teams are there in our college. No gender ratio as it is a women's college. Different workshops according to the department are held in the college.

Hostel facilities are very good. Good and clean hostels and messes are provided. Food quality is also decent though not very delicious. Total 3 messes are available in 6 blocks i.e 1 mess for 2 blocks each. Rooms are spacious and also extra gardens for girls are made.

Alumni meets are held yearly in our college and also the interaction between seniors and juniors is good in our college.

Exams are held according to university pattern and are taken twice per semester. One is mid semester and the other main i.e university exams. The marks from the mid semesters are added as internals in the final exams. Practicals are also taken twice per semester.

I got the admission on merit basis. Unlike other institutions in Chandigarh MCM DAV does not consider UT kota and only gives admissions on merit basis which is beneficial for students who come from outside Chandigarh. Students are called one by one according to their merits and given admission according to the number of seats alloted by the university.

Great faculty and very hard working teachers. They provide us with extra notes in classes which they prepare by themselves and also provide us with extra books from the staff library. Regular doubt sessions are taken by all the teachers individually .
