Remarks

Anyone who has gone out if the portals of WCC would agree that it is the best. The learning and development opportunities that it provides is unparalleled.

Entrance Preview

One of the top ten colleges in the country according to MHRD. Good reputation and highly recommended by the alumni. My sister had studied here and she loved it.it is also the easily accessible one in the vicinity. The frequency of buses and share autos are pretty good.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course.s especially BA English is diverse. It has a variety of subjects that are not offered in many other places. This opens doors of oppurtunities for students, from journalism to theatre. It does not just focus only on literature and history but in all aspects

Internships Opportunities

It does not directly offer internships but the faculty and some papers offer an opportunity for students to go for internships.

Placement Experience

4.5

The campus interview invites numerous reputed companies who hire students from all departments based on different testing procedures. Some have written tests, others just interviews. Anyone can apply and it is the discretion of the employees to select deserving candidates. Hundreds of students get employed each year.

College Events

5

The college is culturally very active. We celebrate all cultural festivals like Onam, Pongal, Christmas. There are a lot of 'days' on campus to celebrate and have fun. Sunflower day, retro day, headgear day are some of the many days. And the other usual events like all official college ceremonies, conferences, farewell etc

Fee Structure And Facilities

The morning shift is aided therefore the fee is economical. It is paid once per year and an exam fee before the exams. Total expense amounts to around 14000 (when I was a student). Evening shift is self-financed and pretty expensive. The morning shift is from 8:00 to 1:20

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, all governments scholarships are available to eligible candidates. plus the management offers scholarships for minorities and grants for research purposes which is really good.

Campus Life

4.5

The college is a haven for diversity in everything. We have numerous clubs like debate club, quiz club etc. They encourage the participation of students and inculcate skills. Sport is compulsory for one year in UG where the students have a variety of options to choose from. It is a girls college so zero gender ratio

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The accommodation is very good and comfortable. They have to register early though if they are to get accommodation during admission. They have a lot of cultural events within the hostel and friendships are the strongest there. Food is average but good compared to hostels in the vicinity. Fruits, sweets, and snacks are offered every day.. It is a fixed menu so might get monotonous for some

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is active and often come together for special occasions and ceremonies. A yearly food for an event is organized by the alumni for the special school that is maintained by them.

Exam Structure

Evaluation is a little strict but fair. Exams test the knowledge of the students on a particular subject. All aspects are tested. In English, the questions are challenging they require good command over the language and literary intellect. There is two internals per sem. And an end semester exam.

Admission

They release the list of selected candidates in due time in three lists. Mine appeared on the very first list. Admissions are given on merit basis and correspondingly appear on the lists. Proficiency in sports and extracurricular activities are considered for admissions. They call the candidate to confirm their admission and are then asked to appear for an interview and submission of documents.

Faculty

5

Very proficient and creative. They employ new age teaching methodologies and are very focused on providing the students with the latest information on the subjects thus making them relevant. They don't just share textbook knowledge, which is the case in a lot of colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well-structured and covers both theoretical and practical aspects. It provides a strong foundation for higher studies and career opportunities. Internal assessments and semester exams are conducted regularly, with a fair marking system. More industry exposure, internships, and skill-based training would further enhance students' learning experience.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The department of English not only offers good education but also so many values to lead our life. Faculties were so friendly in clearing students' doubts. There was personality development course to improve students' personality. Students had to choose any other subjects other than they are studying for sbi course. Due to this students learn about other subjects too.

Madras School of Economics - [MSE], Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (Economics)
Reviewed on Sep 17, 2024(Enrolled 2024)

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well the course provides almost everything which is needed and available. This is not a normal economics course as it involves statistics, python, core math and also dives into data science. This allows the students to explore various subjects and can choose which is their best fileld. The curriculum overall is very rigorous and intense but you can crack it if you study regularly. About the frequencies of the examinations, we have 2 internal examinations and 1 end semester examination. I can guarantee that this course is super rigorous but im not sure if i would necessarily say that the course is "practical" and it helps us in the real word. I cannot comment on the practicality of the courses. The exams are not super difficult and its moderate. Getting more than 90% can be challenging although clearing the paper won't be an impossible task.
