Remarks

The college need a lot of modern infrastructure and a well equipped placement cell with people who can bring the old glory of this temple of learning.

Entrance Preview

This college still holds a great game in Bhubaneswar once it was among jewel colleges of Bhubaneswar. It still holds a good placement record where companies like TCS, ZYCUS, comes to her. Situated in a remote area of jatni a village in khorda district it has a pleasant environment.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The faculties here are good they complete the syllabus well before the time though we have a huge lab for all different branches they need more to be modernized as few of the labs still work on Windows XP. For b.tech it's better but not for research out here they hire private vendors for final year's major as well as minor project

Internships Opportunities

No. For any internship and course you yourself has to find it or do it by and private players by paying it from your own pocket

Placement Experience

3

Almost 70 percent of students get placed every year but for that also you need to be talented enough once the college had a bright record of placement but not in present times. From last 2 years students have to run for off campus to get the job placement cell has been dorment for last two years as they are not able to call the companies unlike other colleges do

College Events

3.5

There are 2 main celebration in the college the first is it's Foundation day on 7th of September and the second is the College feast. Foundation day is a single day celebration that ends up by 4 in the evening. Where as feast is a 3day celebration where the first day is technical feast. And second day and third day are cultural feast where DJ NIGHT and STAR NIGHT are very popular

Fee Structure And Facilities

The course structure for the residents of the state of Odisha under TWF quota is just As 18900 a year where as for others are 94900 a year. Yes somewhat it is fissible while we compare it with other colleges of the city. The fee is not too expensive.

Fees and Financial Aid

No. Never heard of this it's you who has to arrange for your own loans and pay your college fees they may provide you with some relaxation in payment dates but full fee is need to be paid.

Campus Life

4

The campus life is really awesome as the college has a beautiful location inter branch tournament is the only sports event that take place robotics and others are generally seen during the tech feast. OEC has an awesome unarmed aero club where you can design your unarmed aeroplane and UAVs that is well apericiated here.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel is really awesome it is an octagon shaped building where you are equiped with a full wifi and a centeral hall has a big screen television where you can enjoy the show depending upon the DTH recharge. Each room has separate space for 3 boys and are really big and comfortable. The campus has only boys hostel while girls hostel is in the town. Mess facility and not so bad while comparing it with other colleges

Alumni/Alumna

The best thing about OEC is that senior can help you a lot financially mentally and whichever way they could they always stand by your side for any help you need

Exam Structure

Well before the semester we have 2 sets of internal exams each of 25 marks and the one who fails in that gets a back. Each set of internal exam consists of 3 different parts that is quiz, surprise test and class test the syllabus of these test are determined by concerned faculty

Admission

I secured 180rank in Orissa Joint enterence exams and went through a counseling process and my first preference was Orissa engineering college as I have heard of it and was alloted a seat in the college. Admission can be taken through management quota as well and no donation is required for that.

Faculty

4

Faculties of branches like Computer science and Information technology, basic sciences are really awesome but not for all branches like civil and electrical if you are a GATE or IES aspirant you just can't relay upon the college faculty even small minor projects are handed to the private institutions not by the college faculty

Our college give good placement but packages are very low package start with 150000 and end in 700000 . But you study properly then you try pursuing higher studies. 40% students placed but below 400000 . after completing you try off campus placement then you secured good salary on good company.

Placement Experience:

So the students become eligible for placemant usually from the 7th semester of the Btech which is from the 4th year and the internship opportunities are available from the 3rd year onwards that is from 5th and 6th semester. So in year 2024-25 the number of companies that visited The campus is around 330 And the total job offers offered is about 1200. So the highest package in the EC branch is about 1.2 crore per annum and the average package for the EC branch is around 13 to 14 lakhs. And the Profile of jobs are core electronics, VLSI and semiconductor roles ,system and embedded developments, software engineering, IT services, consulting and analytics. The percentage of student which are getting placed are in the range of 90 to 99% for ECE branch. The top recruiters are Apple Google, Microsoft, Amazon, wipro, Deloitte, Tata,Vedanta etc. After completing my degree in ECE from NIT Rourkela my plan is to join the core technology sector as a VLSI and semiconductor engineer in a reputed multinational Companies, leveraging the strong foundation and industrial exposure gained during my studies in case I do not secure a campus placement I aim to pursue the off campus opportunities in electronics, IT or analytics sectors. Alternatively I am open to perceive higher studies in MBA to specialize in the management sector.

Placement Experience:

the placement is also not that much great. they are very few companies TCS and Infosys are the mass recuriter here . The core companies are close to null . So you have to go to only to the IT companies that to at a very low package . My students work for as low as 2.5 lac per annum . This year almost everybody was between 3lac to 10lac bracket . The highest on campus package are about 25 lac . Not more than that most of time. and the average package is almost about 3-4 lac per annum . The percentage of the students placed is also really bad . Most of the students have to hurdle by himself.
