Course Curriculum Overview

4

This course is easy and hard too it depends on how much effort you give. But yes if you miss class, especially for practicals it will really become hard for you to understand the syllabus and complete it on time. Practicals really play a great role here which makes your mind and decisions in a broad way. Geography subject is vast and very deep and very interconnected with the world and your whole environment. I opted for this subject just because I always loved studying it. Sometimes it made me to cover up the syllabus, but almost it's a very good subject.

Internships Opportunities

1

Internships are held by different companies in the off-campus rather than within the college. Internships, part-time jobs, or full placement are both given. I haven't got any placement or internship yet so no idea about it.

Fees and Financial Aid

Well, there is no hostel facility so either take rent or pg. Haven't got a scholarship so no idea about it. But there are pretty good placements in this course as in practical there is GIS or QGIS, arc gis but not taught by our teachers as it's pretty complicated we rather use qgis. But if you have a few other diplomas in computer courses it makes it easier to get placements. The complete cost of this course is 12k or 11k per year.

Campus Life

4

Along with studies as well as other curricula is important and is held every year as an annual day function college anniversary, or fest, freshers, farewell. Societies are there for each culture and state-wise and they do hold programs. Other programs other than this college or the whole university do according to the national celebration days. Technologies are there like projectors, and laptops available for practicals, field surveys are done for various research. Books are there but somehow you don't get your desired books to study.

Admission

As I took admission in 2021 according to merit list and I got it around 60 percent. But now cuet I'd conducted for ug and further education. Due to which it became pretty much difficult to get or quality as geography is vast subject and needs thorough study on it and if you do do you get decent marks around 150 to 180 and it basically goes around 150 cutoffs. And also reservation plays ab important role here as you get good chance to get admission. If you want to take admission you have to register in perticular University you like to give exam or further you get details on NTA website regarding exams.

Faculty

As I opted for B.A Hons geography in Swami shraddhanand college. The teachers are very friendly and has very effective learning , classes are held every time with proper notes and facilities for the students. They are very helpful when it comes to study and as well there are few students who are from Hindi department so teachers go with them in both ways so student meet their requirements. But as in my opinion it's not only the responsibility of the teacher but it's also the responsibility of students too to take a good care about their credentials and marks. They surely help us to get good marks. Practicals are held every vividly or you often go for excursion for research.

Area that should be improved that is treat every student similarly without any discrimination. Faculty don't even tdke action on sol, IGNOU and NCWEB students. So I think it should be improved firstly.

The curriculum is very broad and relevant, it covers both theory and practical aspects of the subject. It is very nice to prepare for further higher studies, though more real-world cast studies and interactive teaching.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is relevant to the current aspects of real world. It is also very focused on the practical component of the subject and helps us know how to apply our theoretical concepts in real life. Aspects that influenced me were: the practicality, the relatibiltiy of concepts and the testing approaches as well.

Placement Experience:

Since i am 2nd year myself, hearing from seniors, seeing placement cell activities and reading reports, placement at ipcw are decent but far from perfect. The placement drive is not as huge or reliable as some commerce Acc. to the nirf report, for ug courses out of 1204 eligible students 118 got placed, which is roughly 9-10, for pg course, out of 100 eligible students only 6 got placed. Median package for UG was 6.20 lakhs per annum, and for pg is 6.7 lakhs per annum. In earlier years (2022-23) , median UG package was higher. The highest package went to 23 lakhs per annum which was quite impressive. It was from DE Show and co., Wipro, Capgeminie etc. there are regular recruiters like DE. Shaw abd co.,Wipro, Capegemini, Godrej properties, Sirion Labs etc. What i feel personaly as an eco hons. student unless i build extra i cant really expect placement. Masters and competetive exams are next option
