Sibsagar College and Now Sibsagar University a brief Description.

I took English literature because of my interest in Shakespeare. The course in our college fullfills my expectations it covers the literature from the Anglo-Saxon period to the Post modern period it also builds a strong base for the masters because the syllabus is made by Pankaj sir and he is a literally genius in this field but I think he should decrease the level of difficulty a little bit because for the academically poor kids it is though to pass the exam, but exam times are on point they give us sufficient time to prepare for our finals.

The fee is very nominal in our college if you are a day scholar the admission and tution fee for a year is just 7510 rupees and hostel is also available just for 1200 rupees per month the total cost for BA in English is Just around 25000 rupees for whole 3 years and if you are a BPL student than the admission fee of 4090 is free for you. There are many scholarship program the one I got us Ishan Uday Scheme by UGC.

The grand "Bokhontor Botora" happened every 22nd of April it is the biggest fastival in our college and the event last for 5 days. Now the library it is biggest library in a college in upper Assam and with a fast 1 Gbps internet connection flow of knowledge never stops here. For extracurricular activities there is college week in two phases one is cultural and another is outdoor sports it has everything you can think of don't hesitate to show off your skills.

If you want to take admission in English department than you should get minimum 75% in your 12 class, CUET score will give you a weightage but admission is mainly done through 12th marks for admission you have to apply throu samarth portal of Assam Govt. There is no application fee for application and there are reservations for OBC/SC/ST/EWS. The difficulty of exam is a little because this is the best college in upper Assam and if you depend on cheating for passing the exams than don't come to this college.

In my department there is 1 teacher for every 5 students they were very talented and knowledgeable. All of them are PhD holders and especially Uttam sir And Pankaj sir, they are very friendly and they also guide us in our personal lives. Every professor gives their 100% to teach us properly and they respond to our every doubt.
