Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum of NIT AP is very good. Being a student of earlier batch when national education policy was not implemented, the subjects included in our course curriculum was mixture of industry standards as well some outdated courses. But after NEP implementation the courses are very much updated and students are being taught with subjects related to current trends. Also the improvements can be made in areas of practical implementations of things. Each semester consist of 2 exams, mid term and end term, and the difficulty level is moderate.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Our college provides research internships to students from our own college as well as students from outside our college . Research internship is basically unpaid and project based. But the TNP cell of college come with opportunities of internships with different companies if the companies approaches our college, such as JP Morgan chase and co. came for software engineer intern role with stipend of 75000 per month.

Placement Experience

3

Placements of my college is average, as the location is remote only a limited number of companies visit for placement. - From seventh sem students become eligible for campus placements. - The highest package offered till now for on campus is 19lpa by C-Dot and average package is 8lpa. - Students getting placed differs from branch to branch , in cse almost every students gets placed who are eligible. - Also i am planning for M.tech if i do not get a good placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of B.Tech. students are divided into 3 categories, students with family income less than 1lakh do not have to pay their tutition fees, students with family income more than 1lakh but less than 5lakh have to pay 33,000 as their tution fees and student with family income more than 5lakh has to pay 62,500. Apart from this sc and st students do not have to pay any tution fees. Also every students have to pay 11000rs every sem which includes internet, hostel ,transportation, medical fees etc. Apart from this mess fess has to be paid to HMC of hostel.

Campus Life

3

Campus life at NIT AP is not as much as other colleges but 2 fests ocuur every year, techfest which is also called Addovedi at the month of october and cultural fest , Atulyam at the month of february. There are various clubs such as coding club, robotics club, music club, dance club, literary club etc. but the frequency of events organization by the clubs is less. There is also a library inside the campus, which contains all the academic related books and some additional books as well.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel is compulsory for all the students in my college. The hostel fees is very affordable that is 4000rs per semester and each room is alloted to 3 students. The student is provided with a bed, table, chair, a fan, switch boards and a lan port. The mess fees is paid separately on monthly basis. The hostel is alloted when the students visit the campus. The mess menu is average and quality is also average.

Admission

To take admission into NIT, students must appear for an entrance exam (JEE) and score good percentile. Application form comes every year on NTA site and it cost around 700 rs for filliing the application. Also if students have a category , they can avail its benefits during counselling as the cutoff of category students remain low. JEE occur twice a year and it has two levels main and advanced, those who clears main are eligible for advanced and the difficulty level is high. For different branches cut offs are different. One improvement which should be done is to scrutinized the documents very carefully while taking admissions.

Faculty

4

The faculties of college are very much eligible and has a very good teaching experience. Being a computer Science student , i feel like the faculties of cse department are very much knowledgeable , very cooperative and they listen to students. The faculty to student ratio is also good and teachers knows almost all students personally. Students can interact with teachers anytime whenever they needed.

The Electrical Engineering course curriculum is quite comprehensive, covering key areas like circuit analysis, electronics, and power systems, which has well-prepared me for real-world applications, although incorporating more hands-on projects and industry insights could further enhance its relevance.

The placement are very good here. I have joined recently so yah I don't know much about the highest and average placement of the institute. The highest percentage among all is from mechanical. The students of mechanical engineering had a higher percentage of jobs as compared to other branches. I will do M.Tech after my B.Tech.

From 7th semester, we are eligible for placements. I am from cse branch and most students of CSE get placed with a decent package. Let's see what happens with my batch as my batch has the most students as compared to other batches. Last year the placements were not so good due to recession. Other branches like mechanical, ece, civil too get companies. I don't know about electrical engineering. But we get good number of opportunities for cse.
