An honesf Review on NIT hamirpur

The course curriculum is nice , and academic pressure is also not too much , one can easily get spare time to work on the development of their skills . My branch is Mechanical and professors of Mechanical engineering department are highly qualified and We have 2 exams in 1 Sam one is the Mid Sam and one is End sem , and in between the semesters we have quizzes , class tests .

Internship opportunities are good in this college , students get internships in many companies both core and non core .But research opportunities are not good in this college , so if u are seeking to get in research then in won't recommend you to join this college , otherwise internship opportunities are available .

College has quite good placements . Average package for CSE is approx 15lpa and overall around 10-11 lpa . Placement percentage of Core branches (Electrical , Mechanical ,Civil , Chemical ) are high , Mechanical have 90% placement , electrical have 88% placememt rate . I myself is considering to pursue for higher studies.

Tution fees per sem for b tech is 62,500 and the Other fees is 34,100 for the 1st sem and for the rest of the semester its 21,100 . Hostel fees is 35000 for Odd semester and 25,200 for the even semester .One can easily get scholarships like NSP or the State scholarships and many other private scholarships . College itself provides some financial aid . Also student can apply for Education loan . College itself has SBI branch inside the campus

Campus life is good , but u don't get the night life in campus , as it is located in the mountains so yeah its a bit problem , but overall the main market is near the campus . The college has 2 main fests , one is the Cultural fest- Hillfair which is held in Spetember-October and the other is the Technical fest- Nimbus which is held in February . Both fest's are of 3 days . You can check on YouTube about the highlights of the fests , and many other functions are held frequently . Classrooms have ACs , projectors ,College have many different sports like Cricket , Football , Basketball , Tennis , Table Tennis , Badminton in the Student Activity Center , Proper Gym separate for Girls and Boys . There are many clubs and societies , like GDSC , Robosoc , Pixonoids And many others also departmental clubs are there . Clubs are a very good place for juniors to interact with their seniors , one can get alumni network through clubs .

Hostels are decent , Rooms are a bit small , for first year Boys 3seater and 4 seater rooms are present . And weather in himachal is always good , so thats not a problem , Mess is good , you get variety of foods in mess , along with sweets and icecreams , we get 4 meals a day , breakfast , lunch , snacks and dinner . Hostels are quite affordable .Also many canteens and cafe are available in the campus .

For admission in b.tech course student must qualify the JEE Mains examination After qualifying the exam , student must appear for JOSSA counselling through which they can get admission in NIT Hamirpur . The reservation are based on the Category EWS , OBC , SC ,ST , Girls quota , also 50% seats are reserved for Home State students .

Faculty are high qualified , many of them are themselves Graduates from IITs NITs or other prominent institutions .Some of them are very helpful but professors of mechanical and electrical are quite strict as in every engineering college .
