What Students Say
Likes
- The faculty's Mentorship qualities was good.
- curriculum is Upgraded for better learning and advancement.
Dislikes
- The college had lots of restriction for the students.
- Architecture is different from engineering and the management didn't understand even the basics of architecture but they run an architecture department.
- There was dress code to be followed. Although there was a little bit freedom about dress code in our department, other department faculties did not allow our students to write the exam for wearing pants with 2 extra pockets, telling it wasn't formal
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum here was upgraded and was nothing like the old Anna University syllabus. The curriculum is well designed so that we cover all the aspects to be covered for GATE Architecture exams for those who would like to pursue a master's. We were not exposed to a lot of practical work and technical details during the due course. The exams are easy when you've paid attention in class and taken notes. most faculties do give notes before exams.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fee for my batch is rs.1,20,000/- for each year and there is a misc. fee of rs.10,000 every year. no financial aid was provided. It's a 5-year course so in total I have spent around rs.5,00,000 only on tuition fee and around 4 lakhs for hostel and transportation. I've spent nearly 15 Lakhs overall. We didn't have placements.
Campus Life
We have lots of Clubs - fine arts, sports, NCC, NSS, YRC, Green club, Tamil mandram, Photography club, Tourism Club, etc. we have a library facility too. there are student-run clubs but with the monitoring of faculties, so its technically faculty run clubs
Hostel Facilities
the hostel is the worst, 6 students in 1 room for 80,000/- for a common room without AC And an attached toilet, and If I need those facilities, I'll have to pay around 1,20,000/- which is not affordable and the food is not good either.
Admission
You should have passed NATA or JEE paper 2 and have a minimum aggregate of 50% in your 12th board PCM and overall. The application form is available on the college website and also there are admission centers. the admission fee is 600 +10,000.
Faculty
When I joined the institute in 2019, I had individual attention as the faculty-to-student ratio was 1: 10, but in later years we faced a faculty shortage. In the final year, we didn't have faculty to teach professional practice, nor did the management refuse to recruit new faculties. The department is currently running with only 4 faculties including the heads. The mentors we had were fully devoted and committed to the job. They ensured the students' welfare. Only a few faculties were approachable.
