The exposure I had in college , which was a big thing to learn for me. People here are from different states and different places. So I had fun with knowing eachother culture and other stuffs.
Apart from studies I liked and learnt a lot other positives and negatives in my life. That has thought me a lot to know and the interactions with lots of students. Also the space I got there.. where I really felt it has a university.
I had lots of fun apart from studies and I liked the way they had culturals events frequently and often. Which gave us a lot iof interaction within students and lots of things to learn apart from studies like dance and music.

Dislikes

As there where plenty of students where ever I go. I had discomfort in introducing eachother.
I had a bad experience in my hostel .. as there were most of North Indian guys.. where as a Tamil guy I felt difficult to mingle.
Food in hostel wasn’t good at ending of a year.. at beginning it felt good.. but as the taste repeats it felt bad taste.

Architecture is a professional course , which deals with creativity and a lot of thinking skills. Students will learn about designing and various stuffs about building materials, plan, elevation, section and the structural maths behind it.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 275000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The university had a different fee structure for various courses. Architecture fee is 2,75,000 per year and for five year it is 13,75,000. Which is worth in srm.. but still we don't have a well infra for the fee and not a AC in that hot classrooms.

Campus Life

Social aspect was well conducted here in Srm, than any other universities I know.. people have various clubs among the college to express the talents apart from studies and this made their social interaction and also club involvement.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel is fine for the first beginning year , cause of the food and other bad infra in hostel rooms. Even though it was less strict than other colleges .. students feel bad in their random roommate.. from different state and language. After their first year , students can rent outside rooms , cheap and best than hostel, but safety risk factor.

Hostel Fee: INR 115000 per year

Admission

The application process was a well planned and a easier one for the students. First students have to register in the admission portal, and the process starts.. then a faculty had a call with me directly and asked about my nata scores and then each process happens in my portal and the fee advance has to be paid.. and then finally everything was in online mode.. so it felt easy.

Faculty

In architecture, I had a good interaction with my staffs and to well know about a student. In architecture design is a major subject.. which should have often interaction with staffs.. and we had a ratio of 1:8 .. that is 1 staff handled 8 students .. which was good and interactive.

Beyond your limits

Placement Experience:

Students can become eligible in their 8th semester which is also called PPO (Pre Placement Offer) where the number of students getting placed are very low or the students can get their placements in their 10th semester. L&T, Sanjaypuri architects, Zaha Hdid architects are the few companies that I know. In general there are 10-20 offers made. The highest package offered is 18LPA and average is 5.5LPA as per the latest data. 78-85 percent students get placed and the other 15 percent opt for further studies. Currently I'm not sure with my plan but I may do master degree.

Architecture amidst serene greenery

Course Curriculum Overview:

The duration of the course is 5 years with 10 semesters in total. I think this is good period of time to learn architecture. Each semester has five theory subjects and one design subject. The design subject deals with designing buildings with given brief without any plagiagrism. The other five theory subjects are quite easy other than the subjects that involves maths, which requires practice and learning. all the nine semesters are quite conceptualized, whereas the internship semester gives an idea on how the real world of architecture industry works. Though the syllabus is old all over india, it might be for betterent if the practical learning is involved in all semesters.

ONE OF THE BEST CAMPUS AMONGST ALL NITs. NIT TRICHY.

Placement Experience:

Placement happens in the fourth year before the final semester. Multiple companies offers jobs like Google, Amazon, Instagram etc. Average salary package is around 50LPA 95 percent of students get placed in average There is no campus placement for architecture.

i applied to VIT, BITS, amritha, ssn, sns and finally SRM.I got a confirmed admission from SRM and VIT .I choose SRM over VIT because of lesser fees comparatively and SRM also has a wide range of specialization options in its course. I got less rank in the VIT Entrance exam so i got andhhra and bhopal campus which was very far and not comfortable for me.The others colleges were not suggested by my friends and finally thought SRM was better. In SRM .. the admission process is smooth and it is fully online and nothing is offline. As soon as the result of the entrance exam got published .. we are given the option to take the full admission process with the questions of what course do we prefer based on the rank and thereafter the dates for everything is shown in ur respective portals given to us throughh which we gave our exams...Read More
