The college is always active as there are programs for the students most of time

The infrastructure of some department is poor

1st year classroom of ece department has fewer seats than students

Course Curriculum Overview

1year is common for all branches. Curriculum is comparatively simpler than that of IITs and NITs. But there are useless paper's which are not needed for engineering students like chemistry. Exam is out of 150 in which 100 is written exam and 50 marks are internals. Duration of exam is 3 hours.

Internships Opportunities

CET is one of the best college in India which provide great placement and internship opportunities for the students. Many well known companies like Schneider, Texas Instruments, Synopsis etc provide placement and also internship for the students.

Placement Experience

Cet offers better placements for students especially for CS, ece and Eee branches. Most of the company only allows students with cgpa above 8.5 to attend the interview. In ECE department highest package is given by Texas instruments which is nearly 32LPA

Fees and Financial Aid

As the college is a government college it has comparatively less tution fees than other private colleges. There are many scholarships available for students and also there are scholarship assistant cells for helping students regarding availing scholarship's.

Campus Life

The campus have really amazing technical fest Drishti and cultural fest Dhwani which is one of the largest fests in Kerala. Also CET have many clubs like Robocet, Herackles, Aerocet and many more. Infrastructure of some department is not that good as campus was established in 1939. But it's well maintained

Admission

Students who passed their +2 exam's are eligible for writing the entrance exam named "KEAM". Students are then allocated to different college under keam according to their choice and rank obtained in keam. Getting circuit branch in cet is difficult as your rank shoud be within 1500 for general.

Faculty

Some teachers are really nice and teaches very well but on the other hand there are other teachers that are very strict Most of the faculties are approachable and also very kind. Overall the college ensures a better education for the students.

IIIT KOTTAYAM - a Honest review

Placement Experience:

As seniors said the average package is around 10lpa.If you have descent skills and above 8 cgpa you will get this average package. If you upskill yourself with effort which many students do here then you can also get above 15lpa which many seniors got.The highest package was off-campus by an ECE Student in Google despite having cgpa around 6.He had very good skills as a full stack developer.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.

Life at CET

This college is the best government college in Kerala. It has been consistently first in KIRF ranking. It has very cheap fees. The campus is very beautiful and spacious (about 200 acres). My best choice of colleges very IITs and NITs like most people. I couldn't crack JEE. I only applied to this college because I had very high ranking in KEAM exam and was confident of acceptance. KEAM exam is a lot easier to crack than JEE. It has basic higher secondary school syllabus. To get my course you would have to be around 700th rank. To get other courses in my college you can have rank as low as 20k....Read More
