Likes

Campus Life is really NYC as we are in an open environment to study.
We have technical groups and various fest organised in the college
The most important one is not scence of attendance

Dislikes

Campus is small and even building is not that large.
As compared to fees utilities are really limited
Faculty members are not that much specialized.

Course Curriculum Overview

As it's a government college and associated with HPU so it provides a great value for degree and also. Most of time exams are held in June and December and as per semester schedules. Most of course is theory based as compared to practical terms.

Placement Experience

After completing 7 semester students are eligible to sit in placements but most of the students completes their internship before or in 7th sem. Last year companies like L&T, Dell, Patriot systems and infotech etc. came to recruit.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fee is really high as compared to facilities but yet it is normal as compared to other private colleges.students can avail various scholarships from NSP and private NGO's. There is examination fees which is extra from semester fees.

Utkarsh fest is organised every year in which various singers and tech companies come so that students can learn and enjoy new experiences, All classrooms are equipped with digital boards and there are students clubs like ETSA, TECHNICAL AND CULTURAL CLUBS.

Admission

There is HPUITCET exam which needs to be qualified for entrance. Subjects in entrance exams are physics, chemistry and maths. Reservation is provided to the students of OBC, SC AND ST as per Himachal Pradesh state government norms.

Almost all of the faculty members are PHD holders and they are ready to help students but here students always prefer self study. Faculties are also associated with various other group like placement, Scholarships etc. to provide assistance to the students.

Placement Experience:

Chandigarh-based companies or the startups, and training institutes come here. Companies like Meander Software, Bebo Technologies, Novem Control, BookingKoala - Sales Hungary, etc. companies come. Average package is 3.8 LPA, and 50% students are getting placed. My plans after getting the degree is working in an IT company.

yes they povide placements. After 6th sem, means in 7th sem you are eligible for placement and apply for companies based on their requirements. Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Amazon and many more visits every year. Highest is the PPO of 93 lakhs and placement of 60 lakhs. around 93% are placed who registers for placements Average CTC is around in between 18 to 22 lakhs

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.
